Review summary

The Celebrity Equinox ship is fabulous - the finishes are lovely.  The ship is very well cared for.  There are many venues (bars, restaurants, relaxation areas, etc) and all are well appointed.  The pool area is quite large with comfortable lounge chairs and bar/food service.

The actually crossing - at sea - was our favorite part of the cruise.  We enjoyed the down time as well as the opportunity to participate in many varied activities. The guest lecturers were very interesting professionals.  The entertainment was excellent - from "broadway" type shows to jugglers & musicians.

Our favorite port of call was Tenerife.  This island has beautiful views and many nice beaches and a good variety of landscape.  The island is clean and well developed.   Our least favorite port of call was Agadir - we have toured Morocco in the past and found the country interesting, safe and full of history - a real jewel.  However, Agadir was not at all interesting......it is safe but was reduced to ruins by an earthquake in 1960.

We would recommend this itinerary to others.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The Silhouette (dinner venue) did not have a relaxing evening dinner atmosphere. The lights needed to be dimmed, most of the time the service felt rushed and the noise level was annoying, not what you would expect for evening dining. The quality of the food was very good, presentation and service were good. The OceanView buffet had excellent selections of food with very good quality.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was comfortable, well appointed, plenty of storage & hangers. The desk area was large enough to be usable, the balcony was large enough to have a small table and two comfortable chairs with foot stools! The bathroom was good size with a nice shower and cabinets for personal items. We enjoyed the complimentary afternoon canapes delivered to our cabin, show shines and pillow menu.

Ship tip

There is a lot to do on board the Equinox - so much that you almost need a vacation from your vacation! Go to the 7 PM show in the theater and make 8 PM dinner reservations. The shows are 45 minutes, so you have time to make both! Then after dinner you can enjoy other activities on board.
