Review summary

This was our first 11-day cruise... we'd always been limited by time-off-from-school before so the longest we'd been away was 7 or 8 days.  We found the added time to be utterly delightful. We engaged in some of the available excursions, but not one every day.  The pace suited us just fine.

The Equinox is a beautiful ship. Like any cruise vessel, it took a couple of days to get acclimated to the arrangement of facilities, but once settled in, we greatly enjoyed the public spaces... there are numerous small sitting areas (and bars) to relax in and enjoy.

This cabin was larger than we'd experienced on previous cruises, and the bathroom was significantly bigger and better arranged... not palatial, mind you, but plenty of room to turn around in the shower without bumping into the walls. The veranda was comfortable and private. We enjoyed sitting outside while we embarked from port each day to enjoy the flow of the air and to see the setting sun.

We toured the Mayan ruins on Cozumel... a 4-hour excursion that was a very pleasant surprise... might have liked to see Chichen Itza, but 8-hours + seemed a bit too much.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

Colon, Panama

The Eco Cruise on Gatun Lake was very pleasant. The Gatun Locks are quite impressive.

There were 7 cruise ships in port at the same time as us... we heard the streets were very crowded. We stayed aboard the Equinox and enjoyed all of its amenities as if it were our own private yacht.
