Review summary

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary by cruising to the Caribbean on Celebrity's "Equinox."  We visited St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Barbados, Dominica and St. Maarten.  The food in the main dining room was excellent, as was the buffet in the Oceanview Cafe, and we had no difficulty finding a table there.  As an Elite member, we were given many "perks", such as continental breakast in the Tuscan Lounge, invitations to many cocktail parties and cocktails with the officers, a backstage theater tour, a visit to the heliport from which the view of St. Maarten was spectacular, free Internet use and free laundry.  We particularly enjoyed DJ, Geo, who played ballroom dance music every evening for 45 minutes.  We.  also very much enjoyed the Celebrity orchestra when they played ballroom dance music one evening.  Being able to ballroom dance is one of the reasons we love to sail on Celebrity. Also, we enjoyed the "Burn It Off" exercise classes that were held on the deck.  We were disappointed that there is now a charge for zumba.  The shows were excellent, with the exception of one evening when the acoustics were so loud that we had to leave the theater.  All told, we had a wonderful time and couldn't have chosen a better cruise to celebrate our Golden wedding anniversary.

The shows were wonderful. The only one we didn't enjoy were the four tenors because the accoustics were too loud and we had to leave the theater.

Service and Staff

Our cabin steward, Pedro, kept our stateroom immaculate. Rossy, the Captain's Club hostess, was very helpful and charming.

Ship Quality

The ship was beautiful and was easy to navigate.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was roomy and had a full-size couch. There was plenty of storage space for our clothes and suitcases. The bathroom was roomy and had a nice shower and lots of space for our toiletry articles.

Ship tip

We didn't have any problem finding a chaise and there were plenty of shady areas to sit . We swam in the AquaSpa pool, which was not very crowded, and we enjoyed the healthy food served in the AquaSpa cafe. The gym was well-equipped and we could always find a treadmill.
