Review summary

It was my wife's dream to visit Alaska and our first cruise. Her dream came true and I've got a feeling that we will be cruising again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was my wife's and myself first cruise and it looked like complete chaos. We couldn't believe all of the people and baggage. We were thinking what have we gotten ourselves into ? But it was actually a completely organized chaos. Everyone was so helpful and we couldn't believe how quickly we were moved thru the boarding process. It took mere minutes and we were standing in our stateroom in awe in how quickly everything went.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We didn't use the main dining room or specialty restaurants. We stuck to the buffets. The food was sooo good and there were sooo many choices at each and every meal. You didn't need to make reservations like you would at the specialty restaurants or main dining. You just showed up when it was open. We downloaded the Celebrity Cruise ship app. And it was amazing the information that it had on it.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I didn't really do any on board activities. But there was plenty to do. My wife did get a fantastic massage at the Spa and was in heaven from the pampering. She also used the pool and hot tub. She did enjoy participating in some of the giveaways at some of the on board specialty shops on board.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We didn't actually attend and actual shows, but walking threw the ship we could see and hear some of the Singers and DJ's and they were great. It was very enjoyable to see other passengers dancing and enjoying themselves.

Children's Programs

It was just mt wife and myself.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The entire staff was unbelievably attentive and friendly no matter where you were on the ship. We never had to call anyone for any need or want. There was always someone checking on us in a friendly manner and if we did have a request, it was quickly taken care of.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was always clean, there was always someone cleaning everywhere on the ship. The restrooms seemed to be constantly staffed and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was clean and the staff took very good care of it. The size was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing I wish was that there was a few more inches between the end of the bed and the wall. I'm a big guy with big feet so making my way from one side of the room to the the Verandah or the other side of the bed was kinda tricky. And it really sucked when I woke up from my sleep in the middle of the night needing to use the restrooms. I also wish the shower had handicap railing inside so you had something to hold onto for stability.

Ship tip

Download the app for the ship. It is a very valuable tool to have.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Flew in the day before the cruise and visited Seattle for a little bit and the hotel I chose was nice and close to the departure terminal. Then I reserved another room so upon our arrival back to Seattle so we would have another day to continue to explore Seattle before we flew out the next day. Seattle has a lot of great places to explore and definitely did not disappoint.

Ketchikan, Alaska

This was my favorite. Once you get off the ship there were plenty of places to visit and explore . As someone who injured his back a few years ago that was a real plus as I can't comfortably walk very far. My wife got a great video of a whale while we were docked and still on board the ship.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

The Captain did an extremely great job steering the ship so people all over the ship got the chance to get some great views

With my limited ability to walk we decided not to grab a shuttle into town which from what I understood was only a 15 minute ride away to a beautiful place. But there is a fantastic even though small souvenir shop at the end of the dock. Plenty of cool souvenirs to choose from. My wife wanted some Canadian money as a souvenir and they have a currency exchange right there, which is nice.

Disembarkation

Once again chaos. But completely organized chaos. It was surprisingly fast and efficient.
