Review summary

What else can I say that I didnt in the above specific categories. It is a required field so you get this.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had zero issues getting on the ship. I appreciated how we were alerted before each step and were able to prepare for that next step in kind. There were tons of people there to help and assist us along the way, which was appreciated. Very smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was average. I am a realist. They are trying to feed a ship full of people and I go in not expecting much honestly. I am not saying it was theme park quality, because it was definitely better then that, but not wowed at all. I think the general dining rooms were better then average, but what knocked them down was a very disappointing specialty restaurant. We went to the steak house one and we felt like the main dining room steak was better when we had it there as compared to the ones we paid extra for. I do want to point out that the staff was amazing. the service was perfect and everyone was super friendly and helpful. Especially for my wife who is dairy free. they went out of their way to help try and accommodate her for deserts, ect.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Smaller ship meant less activities in general. I will echo my sentiments above in that the staff and everyone associated with the ship were incredibly friendly and helpful, but onboard activities were just okay.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
They did a good job of matching the entertainment to the next port as far as educational stuff which I appreciated. The rest was cruise ship normal.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Okay, so this is a tough one, because we didn't have our kids on the ship, but we heard a ton of complaints on both sides of the aisle. The people who brought kids were talking about struggling to find things for them to do and the people on the other side without kids were complaining cause the kids were running around and being kids. A big one was the kids being in the adults only area. They opened up some time for them to be there I guess to find something for them to do, but wasn't policed well. Part of why we didn't use it much. I think in general it is a tough cruise for kids to start off with. And then having limited activities compounded the problem.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I have said it multiple times before on this survey, but can't say enough about how incredibly friendly, welcoming, helpful, and awesome the staff was on this cruise. Honestly they had Disney level service which is a high honor in my book.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleaned and maintained well. Layout a little wonky, but overall good.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very clean and comfortable. Some were dissing the window vs the balcony, but I thought it was perfect for a slightly hostile environment. It was a little tough when one of us wanted to get up and the other staying in bed because of the sound of the dropping/lifting shade, but in this environment I thought it was as good as you could make it.

Ship tip

Stay away from the fine dining, extra cost restaurants.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
I went fishing and had a great time bookending our trip in Seattle.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Went fishing again and had a great experience. Of the ports, this was our favorite if you don't count the endicott/dawes glacier where you don't get off the ship.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

5 out of 5
This was by far the best experience of the trip and we didnt even have to leave the ship. I have told everyone since I got back that if the cruise does not have this on their agenda you should find one that does if you are going to Alaska. Absolutely stunning.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
We went whale watching and a rainforest walk. We saw whales and had a good time.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
We did the railway up and bus back. We were happy we did in that the ride up was amazing, but near the end we were happy to have the quicker route back.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

4 out of 5
Everything compared to the Endicott/Dawes has to take on step back.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
Pleasantly surprised. Beautiful scenery and the flowers were amazing. Every port had their street with all the shops and vendors that were very similar as did Victoria, but the way they had the town adorned with flowers was very beautiful.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Super smooth and very streamlined. They offered a lounge to wait in which I didn't think after the fact really helped much, but overall perfect.
