Review summary

Skipping the drink package and planning our own excursions made it good value for the money.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
More clarity is needed regarding lines. We were directed to a very long, winding line which took quite a while, only to get to the front and learn we should have been directed to the priority line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Dining rooms were beautifully designed and we were seated quickly every evening. Some meals were stellar and truly memorable, while others were average....I was hoping for more stellar.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The adult pool was humid and not open-air. This was disappointing.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This is a large room and very comfortable, the bathroom was also well designed. The only improvement would be the design of the windows so that the separation between the two halves wasn't right at eye level while seated.

Ship tip

Book your own excursions through Viator and other sites - Celebrity's are quite overpriced.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
I've been before and love it. We only had time for a hop on/hop off bus, but using Bags & Go at the airport and the Aerobus Shuttle made everything super easy and inexpensive. Our bags arrived in our room on the ship, and we walked across the street, jumped on the shuttle (for 8 euro) and were dropped off in the centre of the city. Perfect!

Valencia, Spain

5 out of 5
My first time in Valencia, and I enjoyed it. Did a Guru Walk tour for 2.5 hours (which is pay what you want) and then wandered the city. A nice day.

Ibiza, Balearic Islands

4 out of 5
I prearranged a snorkeling tour out of Sant Antoni which was amazing. It seemed odd not to have an overnight in Ibiza given the island is known for its nightlife.

Portofino, Italy

5 out of 5
Always love this port - and it was simple to take a ferry to other parts of the Cinque Terre.

Ajaccio, Corsica

5 out of 5
Wonderful beach day. More information about city buses would have been appreciated. In fact, overall, information about public transportation in all ports was lacking.

La Spezia, Italy

5 out of 5
Took the excursion simply to get to/from Florence. The stops as the leather shop and gold shop could have been deleted; it felt very much like a commisioned activity for the tour guide. But always love Florence.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
Took an extra night in Rome, taking the public shuttle bus to the train station and the train into the city. Again, Celebrity could've/should've provided more details to passengers about this, as I quickly became the "tour guide" for folks who hadn't researched and didn't know where to go or when to get off.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Very well organized except for the placement of bags. There was no rhyme/reason to the ordering of bags, so it took awhile to find ours. (We were 23, which was in the very back of the room, while 22 and 24 were at th e front.)

The bags are grouped by color. They don’t have time to organize by number.

Sounds like a great cruise! Those tours where you pay what you thought it was worth are such a good idea, they try way harder to give you a great experience than the guides you pay upfront.
