Review summary

Cruise of a lifetime. A real “bucket list” trip that was originally booked 3 years ago. It was cancelled twice due to the Covid Pandemic but we finally got to go. Worth the wait!

Embarkation

Smooth, pleasant and welcoming.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The buffet had something for everyone. A wide variety and the food was very good. Good presentation, clean and new, and very friendly staff. The specialty restaurants served excellent food and the service was great. At Eden our waiter Sanjay’s service was impeccable and charming. So too Le Petit Chef was entertaining

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots of fun activities for all who want to participate. Dot painting was fun!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Onboard entertainment, talented musicians, singers, dancers, and acrobats at the theater and live music at various venues. We especially enjoyed “silent disco” where we all wore headsets with 3 musical choices to dance to our heart’s content. Our cruise director Lewis was fabulous, funny and had great energy!

Children's Programs

No children in our party on this cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone of the staff we encountered were caring and friendly from Brittany tending tables at the buffet, to Raquel serving drinks poolside, and we especially were appreciative of our room steward Sunny who made certain we had all we needed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Celebrity Edge is a beautiful ship! The ship is new, large, and tastefully designed. The Edge is well maintained, and always clean and ship shape.

Cabin / Stateroom

3148 was not our cabin. We were so glad to be upgraded when we arrived. *****We enjoyed Cabin 7270 ******Nicely appointed cabin, quite comfortable for 2 people. We so appreciated our large window/ convertible balcony. Bathroom was clean and had a great shower stall. Mattress was comfortable.

Ports of call

We stayed 3 days in Rome before the cruise. Visited the great sites: Vatican and Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona!

Beautiful cliff side villages of whitewashed houses. Very crowded main tourist streets.

Mykonos, Greece

4 out of 5
Lovely picturesque scenery, whitewashed houses, Crowded streets for tourists poking in and out of endless shops.

Istanbul, Turkey

5 out of 5
I was surprised at how much we enjoyed our time in Istanbul. It was a bustling, crowded and active city, while appearing quite clean and well maintained. Had a terrific guided tour of the Hagia Sophia Mosque, Topkapi Palace, ancient underground cistern, Grand Bazaar, and a great local lunch.

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

5 out of 5
Highlight of my cruise was touring Ephesus with a guide. This ancient ruin of a large Roman city in Asia Minor is not to be missed.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
Visited the Acropolis for a guided tour of what I had always seen in books. Lively shopping district.

Naples, Italy Did not visit port

Cold rainy day in Naples kept us aboard for a relaxing day. We cancelled the planned outing to get pizza at a famous restaurant.
