Every cruise I was on before always the people in the suites went first and then handicappers were to be second boarded. Here they told us we would be second pushed us into a hallway and told everyone they could start while we had to wait for pushers.

Ft Lauderdale always has large percentage of cruisers who need assistance. Have cruised out of there for 20 years with family member with mobility issues. Best plan is to bring a foldable lightweight wheelchair and have able bodied person accompany you to push wheelchair on and off and around the ship. Otherwise, resign yourself to waiting for embarkation and disembarkation. Cruise lines are doing the best they can to get back up to speed. Patience and politeness required. Celebrity does a better job than most lines managing folks who need assistance. You will be better prepared next time. Enjoy your future cruises.
Our October 2019 cruise on Celebrity Edge was one of our best cruises ever. The onboarding was so fast it was an anti-climax, we had champagne in our hands in about 10 minutes from arrival at the port. The ship never felt crowded so anyone that really likes a lot of crowd action on a ship might find Celebrity Edge too relaxing. We totally enjoyed the great service, the attention we got, and the quality of all the food and drinks. The ship never felt crowded pre covid19 with a full complement of passengers. I can imagine it might have felt a little empty if they're still sailing with reduced capacity. If that is a problem, it is going to be the case with most ships and the ones that are sailing closer to capacity are getting bad marks because social distancing when close to capacity is a challenge for dining and entertainment spaces.
Thanks for the review. It sounds like cruising is not for you, or at least until Covid is over. Flexibility and lowered expectations seem to be the key to enjoying a cruise currently. Things are not like they were pre-Covid and may never be again.
