Review summary

I enjoyed this cruise very much, but it was much more expensive than past cruises. Unless the price becomes comparable to other cruises, I won't book it again.

Embarkation

No lines! Wonderful!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Neat, clean, delicious. Didn't like to be assigned one dining room, but onboard we were able to switch and try all four dining rooms. Plenty of gluten free options for my daughter. I like caffeine-free diet coke and it was not available everywhere. Magic Carpet - overrated as an experience.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I disliked the way trivia was done - multiple choice on phone/tablet. It took the fun out of thinking for the answer. I remember more activities on other cruises, more shows in small venues - marriage game, stunts, etc.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
woman singer, guy singer, comedian were entertaining. The production shows were not interesting to me or my guests. There was too much "thinking" about the meaning of them. I like to be entertained - Broadway, oldies, ventriloquists, magicians, singing, dancing, comedians. I liked the singers and musicians at the various venues in the ship during the day and evening.

Children's Programs

no children in my party

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was helpful and courteous. Michael, my steward in 8220, was excellent.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Cleanliness was apparent all over the ship. The layout was fine. I liked that there were many places to sit on the 3, 4, and 5 floor around the center foyer area. I especially enjoyed the coffee shop location.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I was in 8220 (and 8224 for rest of party). The size was wonderful and decorated lovely. However, I was disappointed in the storage areas. There was enough for 1 week, but I don't see how I would manage for longer. Maybe adding some hooks would give added space for stuff. The storage areas near the closet (hard to find) were tiny and not realistic for clothes. The closet was nice (smaller than other ships). The infinite balcony - I liked it because it gives you more space in your room. However, it doesn't seem like a real balcony - you still feel like you are inside rather than outside.

Ship tip

Enjoy!
