From beginning to end, outstanding service, cuisine and entertainment.  The ship is immaculate as is the cleanliness of the staterooms.  The shops offer a large variety of items, the Perfume/Makeup and Spirits shops will meet any price found on shore if cheaper.  You only need a picture of the item.

FIRST CELEBRITY CRUISE by SanDiegoCounty

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

There was more than one favorite part. The service from Customer Relations Dept., The Solarium, Two of the Entertainment Shows. The island of St. Lucia.

The following areas that can use improvement are Transfers for Special Assistance, both arriving and departing. The Casino Dept. can use better trained employees, that can provide correct information. Mostly in the off shore Casino Dept. and some on the ship as well.

Worst Embarkation Ever!...back to Carnival & NORWEGIAN!!! 🚫Celebrity by michalkj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Positives:  beautiful  BIG ship, 1041 feet(length). Inside cabin is modern & spacias. Enjoyed a nice breakfast in the Moonlight Sonata, however their breakfast ends @9am in port & 9:30am sea days. Ridiculous!  Breakfast, lunch & dinner buffet in the Oceanview Cafe was "ok."Cabin steward was very nice; excellent service.  Good itinerary with one overnight in Curaçao. Disembarkment was "excellent."

Negatives: Worst embarkation ever!....many closed windows. NO seats!  Stood in line for 2 1/2 hours!!! Unacceptable. Dinner menu was terrible. No comfort food items. I slipped on the tile floor in the Oceanview Cafe...I reported it. Nobody ever followed up. Horrible customer relations! Spa & men's sauna closes @8pm. Absurd!  Crowd was much older & snooty. Low energy. No comedy shows. Entertainment was not my cup of tea.

I do NOT recommend this cruise line for people under 50!  Expect terrible customer relations too. 😒😤👎👎👎👎👎 Don't waste your money...pay restaurants are grossly overpriced. So overpriced that they had to discount them by 30%. They did this several times too!  Casino was dead; like a morgue!  They waived the 5% fee (a few times)if you wanted to buy chips on your shipboard account!!!

Carribean Cruise 13/11/16 by Cruiser6440437

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

lovely ship with fantastic atmosphere!  Great itinerary and enjoyed all islands though not sure I would want to go back to St Lucia as felt very uncomfortable in port.  I felt that there could have been more food choices for people who are not too keen on meat ( but not totally vegetarian)!

the check in at the Port of Miami was not good!  It was totally unorganised and meant waiting in a queue for 1 .5 hrs (standing for the duration)!  This was even more frustrating when at least 4 check in desks were unmanned!!

Most Awesome Cruise Ever!! by pennymcmichael

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We have never sailed on Celebrity before and WOW, have we been missing the boat, literally!! We have been on many cruises and many cruise lines but Celebrity, by far, surpassed everyone of them. From the food, to the ship, to the entertainment, to the staff-no comparison. We are definitely looking forward to taking another Celebrity cruise very soon!

Excellent Choice.. We Only Cruise With Celebrity Cruise Lines.. Never Been Disappointed! by Cruiser84390576

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Caribbean

We have chosen over the last several years to partner with and only with Celebrity Cruise Lines.

The reasons and rationale are many, but to name but a few..

1. Regardless of the Celebrity Cruise Line vessel, the entire experience has been perfect..

2. The ship personnel, the food, and the entertainment is outstanding..

3. Never have we been disappointed during our Celebrity Cruise Line Voyages..

Great Job Celebrity Team!

This was a great value for the money. 14 Days including interest ports of call. Great beaches and interesting shore excursions. We especially enjoyed the Submarine excursion descending to 130 feet and observation of three sunken ships.

You don't care anymore!!! by masanden

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Transatlantic

We were elite class and felt like 2nd class!  Room was filthy.  Food was mediocre at best.  Nothing to write home about literally!!!  Your MANDATORY tipping policy needs to be renamed because it is no longer a "gratuity" based system, just a way for Celebrity to charge more!!!  What happened to you????????????????????

Great trip by dianeafuller

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Transatlantic

We have always wanted to sail into NY Harbor and see Ms. Liberty from the bow of a ship.  This trip was cool and sometimes rough, but worth it.  The crew and staff were excellent.  The food was not the best, but our servers were more than happy to do whatever they could to make our meals more enjoyable.  We did not spend much time outside as it was cool and breezy.  The outside decks were closed several days because of weather.  The glass blowing demonstrations we really fun.  The entertainment was top notch, best we have seen on any cruise liner. We will cruise with Celebrity again in the future, just not THIS cruise.  Again as Floridians, the trip was just too cool until we hit Bermuda.

Wonderful relaxing cruise by Cruiser56966099

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

I have never tried Celebrity; although my husband had cruised once before and highly recommended it. Being Diamond members ( when cruising on RCI) we were able to transfer our membership to a parallel level ( Elite) We obviously missed not having a dedicated Diamond lounge as they do on RCI ships( - although certain areas were set aside each evening) and I wouldn't say the perks were quite the same standard as the other shipping line but we're useful and welcome nevertheless.

The definite magic of this particular cruise was discovering their Aqua Class. This gave us daily access to the Persian Gatden and most importantly the designated restaurant Blu. The food and service, in our opinion, was wonderful and the highlight of a cruise deliberately chosen by us a relaxing break after a busy wedding. We did try Q'sine one night which was a wonderful treat, it's an unusual innovative restaurant WELL worth checking out and great great fun !!!  But apart from that we happily stayed put in Blu.

Celebrity Eclipse is a lovely ship with the usual pools and a covered Solarium (most of the time adults only) a huge theatre (with the usual varied shows to suit all tastes)  and a host of varied other activities available through the day and the evenings.we took a fairly comprehensive coach tour of Lisbon and surrounded tourist hotspots and then the beautiful island of Madeira. Apart from that we strolled off the ship on foot to view Gran Canaria ( a wonderful sandy beach about 10 mins walk max) -and Tenerife.

All in all, this was our sixth cruise and almost certainly one of our most enjoyable. '118 ' were dead easy to use and everything went flawlessly from start to finish. Many thanks!!

Linda L

A few comments by Cruiser94903929

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

didn't enjoy this ship as much as the Royal Caribbean larger ships, and the shops were more upmarket and less varied, recommend eating breakfast in the dining room as the amount of food available in the oceanview cafe can be overwhelming

Excellent plus points and one very disappointing point by Cruiser85772326

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We were very pleased with Cruise118. arranging this cruise especially with the inclusion of free drinks package and gratuities all paid.  We thought that an excellent selling point and would look out for a similar offer in future.

However, the cabin booked was unsatisfactory in that throughout the night at unspecified times a very loud noise -sounding like a trolley being pushed along the corridor or the deck below which woke us up.  First time we reported it and were told "if it happens again, phone the front desk and someone will investigate"  The next night it happened again at midnight, then  absolute quiet, so not reasonable to report.  However, after another noise later in the night, we then went down to the front desk at 6.30.a.m. and asked for it to be investigated.  Within two hours we had been moved to another cabin at the front of the ship and it appears this "noise" is something to do with the kitchens that they are well aware of and suggested that in future we do not book a cabin at the rear of the ship on deck6.    We were given a voucher for £300 for a future cruise.

SUBLIME! by Cruiser99650332

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

I need to be curmudgeonly not to give this cruise 5 stars, but unlike 90 per cent of the passengers, I suspect, I found the director of entertainment, Sue, somewhat overwhelming and a little like a cheer leader. She was ubiquitous - her job, I guess,  - and dare I say, pushy, but I am sure that she ticked all the boxes required of her in her job description.

Concierge class cabin was roomy, lovely balcony, but could have done with more storage space. Service throughout was immediate and immaculate, drinks package was worthwhile, formal dining always excellent, and buffet food par for the course! Eclipse is a beautiful, well designed boat, which I appreciated even more a second time around.

When will the cruise industry start to give fuller descriptions and itineraries for the ports of call. It appears to be so commercialised, intent on selling those pricey tours. For example, the flea market in Lisbon, open on Tuesdays and Sundays, and less than a mile from our mooring on a Tuesday and a very short walk, received no mention! The industry also appears to be retreating from what I would have considered an obligation to provide free transport to city centres.

The few hours that are passed in most ports of call provide little opportunity for proper exploration, which is why I greatly appreciated the overnight in Lisbon, one of my favourite cities. That should have been the highlight of the cruise, but in fact, it was my unwilling participation in the passenger choir, wonderfully led by the chorus captain, that most galvanised me. Bravo and congratulations!

First time with Celebrity by Cruiser13253344

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

A beautiful ship with the best bathroom and balcony I've had.  The staff were always polite and helpful and seemed genuinely happy in their work which made for a relaxing holiday.  The food was too good!

The itinerary was interesting with 3 ports that I hadn't visited before and I enjoyed 4 well organised excursions, the hippo bus was very exciting!

One small negative, why oh why don't they provide shower gel, it would cost very little but be much appreciated.

Celebrity Eclipse by Cruiser76224804

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday on the Celebrity Eclipse travelling down to the Canary Islands.  We could not fault the ship, the service or the entertainment.  We would have rated excellent but having not bought a drinks package before embarking made it very expensive.  Our recommendation is to definitely buy a drinks package when booking the holiday.
