Review summary

Highly recommend this cruise to anyone!! Very rarely do I travel and say, "That was perfect, I wouldn't change a thing!". But I'm saying it after this trip. Celebrity and staff are perfection!

Embarkation

We had Concierge Class and only waited a short time. Customs was a mess, but that happens frequently and wasn't bothersome.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Moonlight Sonata was the best quality. Oceanview was fine, but I just got tired of buffet food by day 6... except for the ice cream and desserts... those never got old!! Service everywhere we dined was above and beyond!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We were travelling with our 4 year old daughter and we did it all! Played bingo, went to the art auctions, shopped, attended several shows, and her favorite thing we did was the blown glass class. We all had a blast!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Amazing!! We attended 6 out of 7 shows and were thoroughly entertained. Our 4 year old loved them too... all family friendly and very talented cast on this ship!

Children's Programs

We traveled with our 4 (almost 5) year old, but we never had these services. We toured the facility the first day and it was fine, but we were on our family vacation to spend time together so we never felt the need to utilize the childcare.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All were amazing, absolutely top notch employees all the way around!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful and they are constantly being maintained. Couldn't ask for more.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
As usual on a cruise ship, the room could have used an extra foot or 2 between the bed and the wall, but since you are hardly ever in your room, this isn't a deal breaker. However, what would have been is having no balcony! We had a balcony and will NEVER cruise again without one. So nice to enjoy the outdoors from your own personal space and in my opinion, the balcony was a great size. The scenery on this cruise (and I'm sure all Alsska ones) was breathtaking for the entire trip.

Ship tip

I am an obsessive vacation planner...I love to travel and love to plan our family trips, but when I started looking at cruises, I was completely overwhelmed with the options... there are just so many cruise lines, so many "deals", so many routes and ports! But I can say without a doubt, we 100% choose the right cruise and the right ship. This trip is perfect for all ages. A MUST do is the Hubbard Glacier excursion. It isn't cheap, but worth every penny!! Can't even begin to describe the magnitude of the Hubbard Glacier and this gets you up close and personal. It is actively calving off into the water right in front of you and it was the most breathtaking thing I have ever seen. Absolutely amazing, but it will sell out, so book early.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

We got on the ship here. Vancouver is fine, beautiful harbor, but a little too "big city" for us to spend too much time there.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

We did a whale watching tour. Skip this one and do the Hubbard Glacier one. This tour was long and we saw the same animals we could see from the ship/our balcony. Interesting architecture that appeared to be quite newly constructed which we found odd. On this cruise, Celebrity hosted an event there so that added a bit of pizzazz to the port, but had that not been going on, I would have been super underwhelmed. I think we should have gone in to Hoonah and probably would have if we hadn't done the whale watching excursion.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

Amazing... and do the excursion... there's only one and it's a boat tour that gets you up close to the glacier while the cruise ship anchors out from it a good distance. It's a do not miss!

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Not thrilled with this one. Just not a lot to it besides the touristy shops. We did the tram up the mountain and hiked a bit, but nothing compared to Hubbard Glacier!!

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
Of the ports we visited, this was our favorite. More interesting walkable area than in other ports. Go up the funicular to the lodge at the top. Nice restaurant and bar looking out over Ketchikan, super clean restrooms...and free WiFi! We were excited about this find.

Disembarkation

A short wait but with Concierge Class, they announced our luggage pickup group before it went over the loudspeaker on the ship so we were out of there by the time they actually announced our group. The whole process once we got our luggage in hand was amazingly fast!
