Review summary

This cruise has been on our bucket list for some time and our 6th cruise since we started cruising in 2010. Other than the mountains and different wildlife it was not as much as I expected. Being from Ontario Canada a lot of the coastal cruising is the same as we have here (trees, water, coastline) other than the mountains and marine life.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Mainly ate in Blu. Not sure if we expected more than on previous cruises but the service while good for the most part was not exceptional as it has been on our past 4 cruises with Celebrity. We have been traveling Aqua Class (3rd time now) and the breakfast service was slower than we are used to in Blu and I'm sure they lost my breakfast order one morning as it took more than 30 minutes to arrive. Luckily it was a sea day so did not have to be anywhere. The food in Blue was not up to normal standards either. Had a rib eye that had far too much fat on it and somewhat chewy. Did enjoy an amazing dinner at the Tuscan Grille.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Mainly on deck enjoying the views to and from Alaska so did not do much else onboard.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Saw 2 comedians as well as a staff rock music show, all 3 were excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was very attentive and willing to help.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Celebrity has never disappointed in these areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our Aqua Class A1 stateroom was normal size however the balcony due to the location was a little larger than others.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

Arrived 2 days early and did our own thing. Walked to Granville Island which was a 25 minute walk from our hotel on Robson St. over the bridge. Then walked to Stanley Park too. It was a long day!

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

5 out of 5
Great views, saw a few humpback whales (backs and tails only) as well as some whale blows before diving back down.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

4 out of 5
Sleepy port which is owned by the cruise lines I believe. We were on the CEO cruise so enjoyed some added "freebies" onshore and onboard.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

5 out of 5
Awesome views and the ship got really close, within 500m's perhaps. Unfortunately there was a group of 50 or more people signing at the top of their lungs for 10 minutes so no one could hear the glacier moving. Celebrity should inform all guests that listening to the glacier is part of the experience which we missed.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Did the Mount Roberts Tram ride and enjoyed some spectacular views as well as a hike to the top. Also did a helicopter tour to the Mendenhall Glacier which was awesome.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Originally planned the Sea Plane tour of the Misty Fjord but cancelled due to the recent sea plane crashes. Did a walking tour through the rain forest instead. If you have wilderness where you live you can pass on this tour, otherwise perhaps take it to enjoy a nature walk. Far more Flora than Fauna when we visited.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and seamless
