Review summary

Overall, we really enjoyed it. A couple things could be improved (including the organization of excursion dismissal, we waited for an hour), but we would cruise with Celebrity again.

Embarkation

Luggage drop off was a little chaotic, but everything after that was pretty smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
My expectations were a little higher (maybe unreasonably so), but we enjoyed the variety of options. Ocean View cafe was fine for the most part (some things pretty good, a couple pretty bad), but we enjoyed food in main dining room, the Blu restaurant and the Tuscan Grille. We also really enjoyed the Aqua Spa Cafe for lunch a couple of times (tiny little servings, but lots of options and very tasty and healthy). Really enjoyed the free desserts at Cafe el Bacio as well as the gelato (not free). The fresh waffle cones were amaaaaazing.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We actually didn't participate in too many activities on board, but we enjoyed Bingo one day and some trivia another. Had some fun at the Casino slots too. If slots are your thing, they had tons of machines to choose from.

Entertainment

We didn't go to any shows.

Children's Programs

No kids!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was excellent. Everyone was very helpful, accommodating, polite, friendly... just phenomenal in general. Many staff took the time to actually have conversation with us. And more than one told us they LOVED working on the ship. We have never heard that on a cruise before!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Overall, everything was very clean, but it seems the ship (or at least the cabins) may be due for an update. I noticed some wear and tear on the room (linens, towels, furniture, etc). Nothing too bad, but it's probably about that time... The fitness club needs updating as well.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was comfortable, average size for a balcony and very clean. It did look like it needed a little updating with linens, towels and just some general nicks and dings on furniture, in drawers etc. We paid extra to be in the Aqua Class, so I think I expected something a little more pristine. Nothing was bothersome or unusable or worth complaining about, but the cabins could use some freshening.

Ship tip

Get some gelato! The gelato is good, but the waffle cones made fresh are AMAZING! Also, we had incredible massages by Karen. She was awesome.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

4 out of 5
Dirtier than I expected with a very dense homeless population and very visible drug usage. Also, it seems like everyone smokes. That may have just been the part of town closer to the port that we explored. We did have some great coffee and visit some very cool shops. We recommend Aubade for coffee and antiques.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

Beautiful!

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
Very small port area, but very well kept and clean with some excellent gift shops. The scenery there is so beautiful. We did the ZipRider excursion and LOVED it. Worth every penny. Also enjoyed the ride up to the top of the mountain. Incredible views!

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

Very epic and beautiful! Milos, the onboard naturalist, provided a lot of interesting information too.

Juneau, Alaska

SO much to see and do! We rented a car and spent 10 hours driving around, taking pictures, visiting Mendenhall Glacier and also going out to the Shrine of St Therese. This was not part of any listed excursions, but it was SO beautiful and we were really glad we made it out there. It's maybe 20 miles outside of the downtown area, but worth the trip if you rent a car or take an Uber there. Also did the Mt. Roberts tram. There are tons of trails at the top and epic views. We loved it all!

Ketchikan, Alaska

Didn't enjoy it quite as much as other ports, but still very interesting and beautiful. We opted to explore on our own. There are good maps with walking historical tours. We walked out the Totem Heritage Center and also visited Creek Street. It was fun!

Disembarkation

We were told to be in the main dining room at 8:40, but waited about an hour to be able to leave.
