Large and spacious, great tv, couch, very cold fridge, everything clean, twice a day cabin tidying up, great REAL balcony, not that Aqua Class roll down window (which we do not enjoy).
Ok, there is one strange thing about the mirrored wall in the bathroom that can be opened to a huge two way window into the bedroom or in the bathroom and vice versa. This is a feature that I am sure is loved by newlyweds or voyeurs, but is impractical cruising with family and friends in the same room. As my wife put it, this is weird, no one wants to watch me pee but our cats!
Ship tip
Bid on the Celebrity MoveUp program upgrade chances at the minimum level, as you never know, we ended up getting a great deal on a sky suite upgrade and enjoyed our first time in The Retreat. We were just gonna cruise three legs in Aqua class, but we won a leg 3 upgrade! Huge room, butler service, exclusive amenities and activities. Wonderful and worth it at that minimum bid amount point! Be careful though, slow your roll, be forewarned, mark my words "amenities become necessities once enjoyed"! so true! :)
Not the worst port in the Caribbean, not the best, not a very good snorkeling or glass bottom boat port, not much to do in the actual port.
That said, book a good excursion and have a lovely time.
Besides, everyone should go to Hell at least once (GC cruise joke).
We went here on leg one of our back 3 back cruises, but avoid Hurricane Milton (i think) or the other one, she took us safer route to Nassau instead on leg 3, so bonus!
You actually CAN get enough of Cozumel, especially if you cruise the Western Caribbean too many times. It may even be a good choice for an extra "uncrowded sea day" of the three ports of this itinerary. That said, it is better than Puerto Costa Mesa and all of Jamaica, so we are usually able to find something fun or interesting to do. I recommend booking an excursion rather than venturing out on your own, unless you just want to eat a great lunch at Margaritaville, shop for tequila, pay too much for leather goods, or purchase prescription drugs without a prescription, all of which you can do quickly and easily in port. I don't judge. God bless. :)
This is exactly the kind of tourist-trappy island I love! There are endless motorsports, e-bike rentals, a huge casino, ship to beach shuttles every few minutes, several giant pools, gorgeous beaches, easy bar access with strong drinks, beach music, and everyone barely dressed. What is not to love?!
We went to the cheesiest Virgin Cruise Lines owned Beach World Resort and had a lovely time. Yes it was a little trashy, all the women wearing much smaller swimsuits than they would ever wear at home pool or around family and friends, because they are on a cruise with strangers. They bought this never worn before swimwear for this exact purpose. All the men seem to be smiling. All the woman pretend to not be self conscious about their unprecedented exposure. It is...
seriously...
I mean...
it is hilarious watching a woman walk in her foreign-country "test thong" for the first time! It appears very difficult to walk on unstable sand with nearly-locked knees!
😳🤪😆😂 of course, I was tipsy so everything was funny!
My wife even laughed her, uhm, head off! We appreciated the umbrella service, and bar servers who came to us, because we tip, duh. I know you paid to get in, but if you don't tip the help, you can't complain about difficulty getting help. It is not like billionaires like Virgin Airlines owners actually pay his third world staff anything. He is an elitist globalist jerk, who does own a fun stretch of beach with cool clean pools nearby. 🍷cheers!
