Review summary

Another really nice Celebrity cruise. Service is always top notch. When sailing a premium line, you definitely get what you pay for.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
From arrival at the terminal to on the ship in less than 20 minutes, zero complaints.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Overall food was excellent. The main dining rooms had good food, and the speciality restaurants were excellent. The buffet was good overall, though some things were mediocre (they had calamari and fish the last day for lunch, which was lacking). Pizza station was always good.

Rooftop Garden Grill

5 out of 5

I think this speciality restaurant is a bit underrated. It's definitely less fancy since it's outside on the top deck, but the food is just as good as any other. Started with some BBQ sliders, and at my waiter's recommendation, had the filet mignon, perfectly done. Finished off with a fresh baked chocolate cookie and ice cream.

The Sunset Bar

5 out of 5

Probably my favorite bar on the ship. It could get a little crowded during the day on a sea day, but in the evening it was never crowded, and was the perfect spot to enjoy a drink after dinner.

Fine Cut Steakhouse

5 out of 5

Amazing food, the steak was cooked perfectly, nice and tender. Had the bacon mac & cheese, very tasty. The apple crumble dessert wasn't great, not enough apple, but didn't detract from the overall meal.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The game shows were a lot of fun. The pools themselves were rarely crowded (though the deck chairs were almost always claimed).

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were excellent. The main shows were very energetic with both singing and acrobatics. The magician was also entertaining.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Overall great service. Only had a single lackluster server at one of the restaurants, but quick mention to the manager had it resolved.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship, great flow.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I was in a solo infinite veranda. Only two downsides I saw, first since it is a solo cabin, you don't get a sofa or chair (just a desk chair), and the other was a serious lack of shelving for storage. There were only two small shelves in the cabinet next to the fridge, none in the closet.

Ship tip

Go for the speciality restaurants. The MDR food is really good, but it rises to exceptional. Amazingly tender steak, perfectly cooked, with great sides.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Great port to just walk around. The ship docks right in old San Juan, so you can easily walk to many shops and restaurants. I walked to one of the historic forts and toured on my own.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
Didn't get to see as much as we expected to as we docked on Fat Tuesday, so there was a big festival on the French side of the island, which prevented our tour from going there. We ended up spending more time on the sailing part which was limited to the lagoon.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
Did a tour of the island, the tour itself was just ok, basically drove to the top of the island where you got some nice views and had a half hour to spend at a souvenir store.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Did the cable car, definitely get some great views from the top. Unfortunately clouds decided to roll in, so views were limited, but still a fun experience. Tour then hit the major stops (the square, umbrella street, etc).

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy. Off the ship and through customs in no time.
