Review summary

The Apex is a nice ship.. nothing exciting or special. Overall, the staff needs better training in accommodating basic needs. Music throughout the ship ( even the pool area) can be improved.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food and service in the dining rooms was not great. The food and attentionto detail in the specialty steak house was superb.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
There was really nothing to do on board. A few game show activities were okay.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Only one show was really good. The live music in the lounge area was terrible.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most of the staff seemed to lack enthusiasm and interest. However one outstanding guest relations person did help ( Alex ) . Our room steward seemed new and not well trained. He did not supply the cabin adequately on a daily basis.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is understated and elegant.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I prefer a traditional balcony....but over all was satisfactory with plenty of storage.

Ship tip

Be ready for low energy.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
I love Key West....the shops and key lime pie on a stick. Judy Blume's bookstore was a great stop ( she was there ) and the Hemingway House tour was excellent.

Belize City, Belize

Hmmm low energy sounds like the last Princess cruise we went on, which we did not like. What would you say was the average age of cruiser on the ship? I appreciate your review. We are looking for a fun European cruise in 2025 and on a newish ship, but worried we’d be bored for 11 days and trying to determine if a land vacation would be better.
