Review summary

It was a great cruise. Unfortunately, the ship was rocking most of the time. We went on the same ship 6 months ago and it never rocked at all, but there were 12’ swells on this one. We still had a great time! One complaint we have about the Edge class ships is they only have high end shopping except for the celebrity shop. There is no where to buy a packaged snack or over the counter med. But other than that and the way the balcony’s are, we loved the Apex with all of its cool spaces and artwork. Plus the amazing theater and entertainment.

Walked right on after security check. Couldn’t have been better.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Celebrity is the best in this category based on our experience.

Blu

5 out of 5

Fantastic food, but limited menu. Wait staff is fantastic. We decided to eat most evening meals in the four main dining rooms since there was more variety.

Eden Bar

5 out of 5

Our absolute favorite bar on the ship. Love the eclectic atmosphere and the craft cocktails. Liked catching the performers practicing while drinking a smoked old fashion.

Entertainment

The production performances are amazing. They could only be accomplished on an Edge class ship. The one exception was the Mentalist. We were not a fan of that one.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was very comfortable and great multi jet shower. Still not a fan of th up/down slider balcony. We prefer the traditional balcony. Also our squeaked loudly when sliding.

Ship tip

Try all the main dining restaurants. We liked them even better than Blu as far as variety. No need for specialty dining. Also, we did not realize at first that the Eden Cafe is complementary for breakfast and lunch. Deli style for lunch. Also, the coffee shop has complementary pastries and they have coffee cocktails.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Loved San Juan but getting in at 4:00 doesn’t leave much daylight.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
We loved Tortola! It is a beautiful place. We enjoyed the land and sea excursion.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
Large port area and we enjoyed the culinary and rum tasting tour.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Grabbed our bag and walked off. Couldn’t have been smoother.
