Review summary

The Captain, Cruise Director, and nearly the entire crew made my vacation enjoyable.... The view out of my cabin, however, was pathetic....including the lies from Celebrity!

The worst bartender in Celebrity in Tada...he is always passed off, condescending, and pours drinks like he could care less...

I booked a 7 day, Caribbean cruise, with one of Celebrity's newest ships, Apex. My cabin was 6136. I was with two others and we each booked our own infinity balcony on Deck 6. The Celebrity agent NEVER mentioned to any of us that our balconies were obstructed AND during our cruise the same agent restated same...no obstruction. I am including pictures of my "unobstructed view" which was the same for those in my group. In fact, every balcony on that ship's Deck 6 has a life boat blocking the balcony view. I received no compensation from Celebrity for false advertising and warn others NOT TO BOOK ON DECK 6!

Ship tip

The location of life boats clearly obstructs MANY BALCONIES...DO NOT TRUST CELEBRITY!

We arrived at 4 pm...too late to scuba or snorkle in daylight! Plus the Fort closes at 6pm!

For the future, There is also a website deckplans.com that can show you obstructions And below/above cabin issues. The RCL invoice does state whether an obstruction exists and percentage.

On your reservation invoice below where your cabin number is stated, it shows if your cabin is obstructed and what % the obstruction is. Sorry you didn’t know that but you can look for this in the future. The agent should have told you because they know which cabins have an obstructed view.

It pays to do your own research

They may be able to technically sell those as unobstructed but my favourite thing about a balcony is sitting out at night watching the water when it’s really quiet and dark (yes maybe I’m weird) so I would also be very disappointed with this view.

I would consider those views obstructed. I was just on a Princess ship and all the cabins above the lifeboats just like that are sold as obstructed views. One of the best things abut a balcony is looking down on the water.

Based on your photos, that would not be considered obstructed balcony since the life boats are below the balcony and there are no obstructions in front of it. It’s always important to do research and find photos and videos online of the actual, or nearby, cabin you are booking.
