Fabulous Caribbean Cruise by nanarobyn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We would go on the Vista again. The casino was also alot of fun:cruisers actually won on slot machines. The $5,000 Cover all Bingo game on last day was disappointing: No One hit when the 49th number was called. They did give a $700.00 prize to the person that hit the coverall bingo : I think it was about number 53. First cruise I have been on that the cover all was not given away: $ 40.00 is pretty expensive to play for a chance to win it and it not be WON! I doubt I would play Bingo again.

Awesome cruise overall! Cruise director... by mizzzink

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Vista

Awesome cruise overall! Cruise director Chris was the best! Staff was amazing, no long lines, room Stewart was on it. Only negative thing I can say is donā€™t eat the buffet and the pool is small but those things didnā€™t matter to me, I ate main dinning room and lots of other options.

The worst part was the club 02 the guy didnā€™t even bring the people around a circle to know each other when I went on the Norwegian escape last year the guy brought all the people together to say our names and where we from and what sport we play and everybody known each other after that so carnival step up your game! šŸ¤™

Sailed on Vista with my... by DrBobSal

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Vista

Sailed on Vista with my family 7/28 on 8-day S. Caribbean voyage. Overall, we had an awesome vacation. Embarkation was super smooth and easy. From hotel (stayed at Loewā€™s South Beach) to cabin on Vista was one hour. We are platinum guests, so our cabin was ready when we boarded at 11:30am. The cruise director was a ā€œsubā€ - but he was still pretty good...Chris Williams. This is our 2nd time on Vista. While there are a lot of people on the ship, there are plenty of places to find a deck chair. This was never an issue. Food was pretty much what we expected - Lido is fair, pizza is great, love Guyā€™s burgers. Service in main dining room was always slow and food just okay. We ate in specialty dining 5x and this was well worth the money. Cucina del Capitano and Steakhouse were good - JiJi Asian Kitchen was by far the best! The service and food were outstanding! Thoroughly enjoyed Java Joe at Java Blue Cafe. Casino staff were also very friendly. Our cabin steward Christine was excellent. She always greeted us by name and did a great job taking care of our cabin. Wish that we had more time in Grand Turk - early arrival and early departure. IMAX theatre was also a must-do - caught new Mission Impossible movie one afternoon on a sea day. Already thinking about our next cruise. The Horizon is moving to Miami to replace Vista and so we will probably give her a try next!

Wonderful Family Cruise by Brennie24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Weā€™d do it again in a heartbeat !! Would just hope for a little improvement in dining room meals and would prefer a full daylight day in CuraƧao which may not be possible due to days at sea. We were there 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm.

This was the best ship... by purelyfiesty

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Vista

This was the best ship I have ever been on. Everything was amazing the entire time. From the food to the crew to all the amazing things to do on board.... we enjoyed ourselves. The only bad experience we had was the Sky Ride not working properly the day we wanted to do it so we were not able to do it before we got off. I would definitely sail this ship again!

Mother & Daughter Vacay by NurseBWeary

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is long so here it isšŸ˜¬ Embarkation-wasnā€™t outside long the wait inside for boarding zone was 1hr (glad I was inside) Was it crowded-at times but what do you expect with nearly 5k ppl, there are a lot of places on the ship that was empty. Elevators -always slow and crowded I used the stairs Pools and pool chairs-usually cleared out around 4..never used them n didnā€™t have a desire to LCD Funnel- I liked it sorry folks the day of glass elevators are over get over it Carnival has and itā€™s time to move on itā€™s about changing with time the same as the Funnel lol it changes daily and was a great prop for pics. I saw a lot of ppl using it. There are two, one is smaller. Water slides-were great, line moved fast Shows-were blah if you seen them before if itā€™s your first time they are good Food-nothing to brag about but my belly was full everyday plenty to choose from..if you go hungry itā€™s your own fault Cherry on Top-my daughter loved n I did too..they have their own version of ColdStone and I loved it..you can get a free version mixing your own stuff at the Sweet Spot on Lido. YTD-I didnā€™t have a problem with it I never waited except on 1st formal night for maybe 10min was given a buzzer and sat enjoyed the band.I think Carnival had a marketing strategy since you can buy coffee while you wait and look/buy your digital photos lol anyways I didnā€™t mind the walk to 4th floor just take the stairs towards the Havana Suites n itā€™s right there.ALOT of ppl donā€™t like that. Havana Rooms- worth the extra cost, pools nearly empty I guess everybody wanted to be on the LidošŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø Staff- was excellent always saw staff cleaning and picking up after ppl. The pizza Guy deserves top pay that line never lets up but moves fast. Sky ride -I didnā€™t get a chance to do it was windy both sea days n got closed early one day due to a malfunction. IMAX theater and thrill theater-was great I went twice to both..felt like a real theater at home. Lido- was crowded at times yes there was a wait for food some of the problem was ppl cutting line and slow ppl(get your food and move on) still not a big problem to me Ports-were Great never felt afraid in Jamaica or Mexico..I did excursions at all Ports two through Carnival and one on my own. Maybe the natives in Jamaica were tired but I wasnā€™t overly harassed as I have read from others Bowling Alley- was broke some kids in the clubhouse reported that other children tore it up lol Bingo -was a hit needs to be moved from the LimeLight Lounge tho it was crowded everyday Disembarkation-a mess buuuuttt I was off by 930 the problem is ppl come down before their deck is called and there is a herd of ppl trying to get off I would definitely do Vista again I had no issues. I do wish Carnival would add more activities such as Painting with a Twist. And there you have it my review

Cruised on Vista July 22-28,... by zekee

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Vista

Cruised on Vista July 22-28, overall great cruise. Enjoyed being on a newer ship. Pros: main dining room, Guyā€™s, Pig and Anchor, Blue Iguana, crew and service. Pig and Anchor was my favorite for lunch option and rest of families favorite was Blue Iguana. Never been a cruise buffet fan but we thought better then normal. Most of the shows and music. No problems getting drinks anywhere, bar hops were outstanding and readily available. Liked how divided up the main Beach Pool, Tides Pool, and Serenity area were set up, We never felt really crowded and no issues with getting chairs at any of the areas. Also it was most I have ever used elevators on a ship, we usually donā€™t like to wait and use stairs but didnā€™t need to as much on the Vista Cons: agree with what most say about lounges, too small with lots of obstructing views. Also need more of theatre or stadium seating set up. Lines still to long for certain things for example Sky Ride and buffet and Guys. Also too limited hours for dining options, Pig and Anchor only open on sea days 12-2:30, and buffet limited lines that were open which would cause longer lines at Pizzeria and Guys. Didnā€™t get to experience cruise director Matt, we had Adam who was ok but didnā€™t seem to really want to be there but went through the motions while filling in. Overall great vacation and wouldnā€™t hesitate to sail on Vista again.

Loved the Vista! Not... by terilee68

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Vista

Loved the Vista! Not anymore confusing than other ships. 2 things I did not like were the main theater (Liquid Lounge), which was way too small & the Horizons dining room. It did not have the staircase in the middle and parts of it (the sides) were closed off from the rest. Not a water view from upstairs so we requested downstairs which was better. With my time dining you had to go to 5th deck to Java Cafe to sign in and be given a table. Then could proceed to the dining room. We were not thrilled with this...but never had a wait so it was no problem afterall. The staff was great as always. Plenty to do, or not to do if you chose. Probably need a good 2 wks to do everything and still have time to relax by pool. I was shocked that the lines were not longer and we always found seats near the pool. Ate at Cucina Italiano and it was excellent. Was even shocked at Miami port as it only took us about 1 hr total each for embarking & disembarking. Although if didnt have faster to the fun would have taken longer to get on. Enjoyed all the ports but the western ports I've been to were prettier & nicer at the actual ports. Overall had a fantastic vacation once again with Carnival and can't wait for the next.

Havana by LarMel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Havana area was the best. There was no more than maybe 10 ppl at the pool each day. Jacuzzi was great at night. Our room had a "secret staircase" right next to it to go down to Havana area.
