Great experience! by lucerne

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Transatlantic

The ship is beautiful. The itinerary was different.. The food was good, the menu was varied. Something for every taste. Normally I do not like the buffet but I found the food there was better than many other ship'Big Smiles buffets.

The staff was friendly and always called you by name.

Athens to Barcelona by pamelamrandall

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Itinerary was awesome.

Food in dining room was so-so,

Too many added costs (24%)

Staff was great and attentive

Boarding was easy

Debark and tours should not be on the same floor, same time

FUN FUN FUN by girlsgonewild

As always, we had a great time.  The ship is beautiful and everything was well organized.    The only problems were the line for guest services and the wait for a washer & dryer.  The food was amazing as was the entire staff.  I would have preferred an "at sea" day close to the end of the cruise but the side trips offered were informative.  I do feel like each time I sail, I am being given a sales pitch during most of the cruise.

Outstanding cruise and memorable ports! by Jheretired

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe

Wow!  Simply WOW!  Nine fantastic European ports in 10 days made this cruise the most memorable of our 17 cruises with Carnival. Embarkation, port calls, service were all so very smooth and the communication helped make the cruise stress-free. Service aboard was excellent and the food options were the best I have ever experienced on a ship. This was the last of the Med cruises for the Vista, but I highly recommend this cruise for those lucky enough to sail when the sister ship (the Horizon) is completed next year!

WOW! by brucew90

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe

We were hardly on the ship.  There were so many ports to visit.  It was a wonderful experience.

Jamie, the cruise director, was a very outgoing beautiful young lady that made all the guests feel very special.

Our biggest regret is not booking the ship back-to-back.  There were so many excursions to pick from that we would have enjoyed going back to each port on a return visit.

Good cruise on a good-to-great ship by bradb22

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe

Plenty of activities on board. Smaller balcony and cabin than ours on the new RCCL Ovation of the seas. No fruit punch just lemonade or tea. Limited food options (our opinion) in the main dining so menu got old about half way thru. crew was very friendly. Vista has bigger TVs but very, very, very limited TV choices. Ovation much better. Vista is not as elegant as the Ovation either. Elevators seemed faster than Ovation but were smaller. Ovation had electrical outlet next to bed and the frig kept drinks colder than the Vista. Even the cabin's tissue box doesn't align with the hole so they wouldn't dispense properly. Very odd you can't get from the aft to the middle of the ship on deck 3 and they don't have the usual numbers of public restrooms on the ship. For example, no restroom close by the main dining room. The morning show lacks good info about the ports and they don't give you a map of the port towns like we received on most cruises.

Still, we had a good time, the ship is clean and beautiful (although it has almost no public art) and has lots of activities. The crew is enthusiastic and we might of had the best servers of our 14 cruises.

Carnival Vista, Best Cruise Ship, Great Amenities!! by DeidraFatt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe

Komang, our room steward made sure our room had all the comforts of home, & made sure we had everything we needed.  The ports of call were fantastic, with plenty of time to do and see what all we had planned!  Wish we had longer in Rome though!  The food on the ship was first rate all the way & Supatra, Sonia & other wait staff took very good care of us & got us up dancing , felt very festive!  I would definitely cruise on this ship again!!  The IMAX theater  & sky ride were awesome!  Thanks Carnival for a truly memorable cruise!!'😎👍🚢⚓️

VISTA WAS JUST AMAZING by Cruiser65331575

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CRUISE ALTHOUGH NOT SURE IF IT WILL BE IN 2017.  HAVING CRUISED WITH ROYAL CARIBBEAN, CRYSTAL CRUISES, PRINCESS, P & O WE FOUND CARNIVAL TO BE VERY GOOD.  IF I WAS TO COMPLAIN, WE WERE WITH OUR DAUGHTER AND HER FAMILY A THREE YEAR OLD AND A ONE YEAR OLD, I FEEL THEY SHOULD HAVE A SPECIAL POOL FOR YOUNG KIDDIES. WHICH IS HEATED OTHER THAN THAT CHILDREN ATE WELL CATERED FOR AND WE FOUND THAT THERE WAS SO MUCH SOACE ON THE SHIP, NO CROWDING AT MEALTIMES EVEN IN THE BUFFET, LOTS OF SPACE TO LIE IN THE SUN IF YOU WISHED.  THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND WE COULD NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT IT, WE WERE AT ANYTIME DINING AND FOUND THAT WE NEVER HAD TO QUEUE, THE STAFF WERE ANAZINGLY FRIENDLY AND COULD NOT DO ENOUGH FOR YOU.  THE BEDS WERE FANTASTIC SO COMFORTABLE HIT THE PILLOW AND OUT COLD.  WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND CARNIVAL WE HAD A CABIN IN THE HAVANNA AREA AND YOU HAD THE ACCESS TO THE REAR IF THE SHIP VUA THE HAVANNAH BAR AND YOU THEN WENT OUT TO A LITTLE HAVEN WITH PALM TREES A LOVELY JACUZZI AND POOL WITH SUNBEDS ETC.

Great way to see many spots in Europe by radlejim

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe

Enjoyed the variety of ports visited.  Tours are what you would expect trying to see so much in one day each.  I am glad we saw the highlights of each stop, but if you really want to see Rome, Barcellona, Athens, etc.  you need more than a day.  On the other hand, I can not say I've seen these places and I did get to see the primary attractions!!!Happy

carnival vista by jreighter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We booked this ship after listening to a presentation about it on another ship earlier this year.  Originally booked on Celebrity...similar itinerary.  Embarkation was a mess....no one directing passengers as to where to go ,long lines going around and around.  Even though we had a pre boarding time of 12-1230, we didn't get on till 330.  Our cabin was #8476 at the back of ship...great views of where you had been but long walks to see the shows or activities as well to go ashore.  Otherwise room was pretty standard...didn't care for the decks above ours had a clear view of your balcony,,,just wouldn't book it again.

Food was horrible...even in their steakhouse.  No flavor or seasonings added to anything.... Guy's Burgers was the only food with flavor!  Service in dining areas--main dining room and,wok kitchen only fair and poor at times.

Shows and entertainment good because of a wonderful cruise director,Jaime.  She made it fun.  Shore excursions--most not worth the price.  Booked the "Sacred Rooms of the Vatican" for $255 each and only spent 10 minutes in this area.  All day excursion,on a hot bus and tour guides who were very difficult to understand.  Other excursions to Palermo,Palma and Marseille lacking interest and appear to be just filling the hours.

Average ship, even though it was new. Average food. Good ports of call. The itinerary was intense, Getting up early the morning for long day, without a day at sea in between can be tiring

The Ship is Beautiful the Ports are industrial by tonyadhayes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I loved the ship but did not enjoy the industrial ports. I booked a balcony room to enjoy the arrival into each but was disappoint by each view. There were a couple of exceptions. I did love the fact that the ship was large enough to accommodate the number of people aboard and I didn't feel as though we were on top of each other,

Great cruise overall! by teamocruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Overall, this was a great cruise.  After having read a ton of reviews on cruise critic I was going in with no expectations as the reviews were about 50/50.  This was my 9th cruise, my 5th with Carnival.  I chose this cruise specifically for the boat and it just happened to be in Europe which was another location that my husband and I were looking at for vacation.  So I thought this was a win, win situation.  The boat was beautiful and of course very clean as it's brand new.  I found the staff and crew to be very nice and helpful.  The food was delicious and our accommodations were better than I expected.  We stayed on the 2nd floor in the Harbor Family area with an ocean view.  Several things that I did not like were:  the fact that you had to pay to see the IMAX and thrill theater movies, along with the popcorn (when the popcorn at the outside movie theater was free).  You were limited on the number of places to eat dinner if you didn't want to pay extra money.  The anytime dining experience was very confusing for the first couple of nights (checking in on one floor and eating on a different).  If you wanted to lounge at the serenity area, you had to get up very early to get a chair.  The Comedians were terrible.  The first 2 were ok, but the last 2 were not funny at all!  So,  Also, the stop at Sicily was a waist.  Very dirty city.

Topnotch trip! by phylsalerno

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I absolutely recommend this cruise. It was a very busy itinerary, but we got to visit so many outstanding cities and sites. Just wish we had a bit more time in each port. Food was the very best on the cruise ship - superb!!! Ship was not crowded, Service was excellent. Word of advice - do not plan your return trip by air on the same morning that the cruise ship debarks - way too many people, long lines at airport, can easily miss your flight.

Incredible Ship and Itinerary!!! by gretchenpr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe

We had an amazing two weeks all in all on this Carnival Cruise through the Mediterrenean. My husband and I chose to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary taking this special trip to Europe. The Vista is a stunning ship with so many beautiful spaces to enjoy. The food was delicious, we loved the Blue Iguana and Guy's Burgers. We also enjoyed a special evening at 555 Feirenheight Restaurant. Thank you and we look forward to travelling with you again.

Sincerely, Gretchen and Jacques Panet-Raymond

Something missing by deanrap

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Europe

"The Carnival Vista is the largest and best ship that Carnival has."  I don't question that it is the Largest ship, but do question that it is the best.  This new ship is far from elegant.  Many of Carnivals' older ships are more attractive and appealing.  Case in point is the Liquid Lounge, theater, the seating is terrible.  In most areas, it is not theater, staged seating so viability is difficult.  High back seats are intermixed with low back seats. Why?  The dancers did their best, but I wasn't the best I've seen on other cruises.  Food in the formal dining area has never been Carnivals' strong point, but I found less than your norm.

The good side, and there are many.  Everyone on the ship was very friendly and did anything they could to make our cruise enjoyable.  Our server, Frank, was extremely competent and made dinner enjoyable.  Jamie, the Cruise Director, did a fabulous job, really high energy.  Our Cabin Stuarts kept our cabin in fine order.

Would I recommend sailing on the Vista?  The answer is yes, but don't expect everything you've had other cruises.
