Review summary

For the premium we paid over a Bahamas cruise, Carnival did not provide adequate compensation when they knew of the issues with the ship. $400 on board credit per cabin (not per person) and a 25% future cruise credit was not equal to the difference in cost from southern Caribbean and a Bahamas cruise. We made the best of it and had fun but it was not ideal. Yes, Carnival has every right to modify our itinerary but this issue was known the evening before embarkation and they failed to relay the info onto the upcoming cruise passengers until 2:30p when we were already unpacked and on board. Yes, they offered refunds/credits if you left but it was not feasible for most people to leave.

Embarkation

Little to no communication about the previous sailing arriving late. It took over an hour to get to baggage drop off and then another 20-30 min to park our car. The rest of embarkation took about 45 minutes.

Main dining room was excellent, Italian restaurant for lunch was good, sandwiches from the deli were perfect, and Blue Iguana had amazing breakfast.

Onboard Activities

Plenty of trivia and the best piano bar guy around. Our day/night in Freeport didn’t have much going on due to the unscheduled ship repairs that kept us in port very late.

Entertainment

Rokstedy in the piano bar was so much fun. Part comedian, part singer, total fun!

Teenagers really enjoyed O2 and its leaders.

Service and Staff

Some waiters were less than friendly but room stewards and the Fun Squad were excellent, especially Monica.

Small cabin but super convenient to Lido, the outside areas of deck 11, the gym, and the spa amenities that came with the room.

Ship tip

Wait until the repairs are complete if your heart is set on a certain itinerary.

Since we were on deck 11, we were able to take an empty elevator directly to deck 3 and walk right off the ship.

I’m sorry to hear about that. But at least you made it work. As for carnival, is all about the $$$$👍 They been knowing this situation for a while now. But refuse to take the ship of line for a proper fix. Thanks for your input 👍
