This was our first Carnival cruise and probably our last. We have cruised with RCCL in the past and really enjoyed it more. The food was also way better on RCCL. The buffet on Carnival was very sad looking and the flow was terrible, always waiting around in a long line b/c of the way it is set up.
Embarkation

Smooth process, we got there at 10:30 and were able to walk right in. They were checking boarding passes so people could not skip the line which was nice.

We had a Family Harbor room so the best feature was the specialty coffee maker in the Family Harbor Lounge. Also having the ability to refill drinks before getting into the hustle and bustle of the main areas was very nice.
Onboard Activities

I got a pass for the thermal suites which was very nice. Because of our kids bed time we did not do much evening entertainment

My kids loved the kids club and would beg to go back every day.
Service and Staff

Staff in MDR was amazing. Our room attendant was alright. For some reason he kept messing up how we needed the room. Couch into a bed and the pullman down. Some times the couch would be back in the couch position or in bed position but not made up. We waited 2 nights for him to pull down the pullman.
Ship Quality

The layout was super annoying. Having to go through the casino to get to the other side is just a really terrible design flaw. We also had a really hard time finding our muster station because of how the ship is laid out.
Cabin / Stateroom

OV-Family Harbor. Had just enough room for our family but did not have an extra bathroom. I thought all the FH rooms were supposed to but I might have been mistaken.
I agree that getting off the ship was rough even though we were off by 9:30. It seemed no one knew where they were going. We've never been to Amber Cove. We are going in November. We love Grand Turks, we've been twice. the people were great, the food was good, the beach was nice. The main dining on the ship was better than the buffet. We also did the Italian restaurant and steak house which both were very good.
