This was our first cruise. We normally do adult only all inclusive. Don’t know if we would do another cruise. Definitely not on Vista. Ryan the room attendant, Adi in Red frog brewery and the entertainment in the brewery was best part of trip.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Good all around but late
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was ok but drinks overpriced. The 18% gratuity on everything you do was a pain. Some waiters did better than others. We tip with cash. But the Nicole and dining was irritating.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Lot of fun. Mardi Gras was great. 80’s night was fun too.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Comedy show was not good. The singer in the red frog brewery was awesome. He was very interactive with the crowds and sounded great.
Children's Programs
No kids, but they’re too many kids. Y’all need an Adult only cruise.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Ryan our stateroom attendant was great! Best ever and looked forward to seeing him everyday!
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Older ship, seemed dirty. Common areas clean but you can tell it’s older. We had a 6 hour delay leaving Roatan due to mechanical issue
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Not a bad size. Bed was comfortable. View was great.
Ship tip
If you can hear yourself walking, the people below you can too. Walk don’t stomp
Due to an emergency medical issue with a passenger we were 4 hours late. People were allowed to get off before they were supposed to. This made it much easier for those later in disembarkation to just walk out with no lines or issues.
I'll echo the sentiment of Virgin Voyages being the only Adults Only cruise line out there. This month (March 2023) they have a 50% of second sailor deal going on. Also for cruises 6 nights or less you get $300 in premium drink credit and $600 for 7 nights or longer.
Don't be turned off of cruising just because you may have selected a wrong cruise line and/or bad dates. Carnival is known to cater to families so kids are to be expected. If you are looking for a wild, "drunken" crowd, do a 3 to 4 day cruise on Carnival. They tend to be more adults looking for a wild weekend. A little more homework may be needed before you next cruise.
