Worse cruise I’ve ever experienced. Carnival is the reason people are afraid to cruise and I understand why. I would never put myself in this position again. Uninterested and absent staff, classless revolting guests, unclean facilities…never again. Total waste of my vacation time and valuable vacation dollars.
Embarkation

Cattle are treated better in TX.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We only at in the dining room and buffet. There were some highlights, but nothing special or memorable at all.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Over crowded disgusting pools & hot tubs, loud obnoxious people in the spa, spastic unruly kids everywhere, claustrophobic facilities. There was no escape or respite from the array of unfortunate people and places.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
We enjoyed the piano bar for a couple of nights, the house band was good. The dancing was interesting, but it all degraded quickly into lude revolting behavior.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Waiters were no where to be found. They would disappear for 15+minutes before taking your order. Our room steward was lovely. She tried hard to make things nice for us.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
The whole ship felt claustrophobic, old and uncared for. The floors in the common areas where covered in human hair and the carpets were absolutely filthy. The handrails were slick with oil and dirt and the elevators and common areas smelled musty and like mildew.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
We could not regulate the temperature at all. It was either hot or freezing. The sheets were so scratchy and there was ZERO literature in the room to help guide you in any way. You were forced to use your phone, which I didn’t want to lug all over the ship.
Ship tip
Be ready to climb stairs. The elevators are awful and you are basically forced to maneuver 14 floors on a constant basis. Change your plans. Book another trip.
The forced 1 mile hike to get to cabs and outside excursions is so punitive. The cruise line doesn’t offer scuba diving excursions and I was looking forward to diving in Honduras, but the reefs are all dead and the experience was exhausting.
Belize was awful. Our original excursions was cancelled and the BEST OF BELIZE excursion was the worst I’ve ever experienced on a cruise. I can tell you about where our tour guide’s brother works, where his grandmother lives and what school he went to, but Belize City is a nothing town with obviously nothing to report since I know more about the man selling oranges in the middle of the street than the history or uniqueness of Belize. Skip!
4 ships came in at the same time. 16,000+ people ascended on this small space in one day and the scurry to rip us all off was feverish. In an area where people make $1.5 an hour, the fact that we are being charged $17 for a fruit smoothie with no alcohol is more than outrageous, it’s revolting.
One elevator out of four can be used by the cruise guests???? The lack of elevators caused HUGE YELLING AND SCREAMING MATCHES! Just an awful experience because people were so sick of waiting for an elevator. Racial slurs, hate and vitriol was juggled like it was a skill and I was both scared and scarred by the whole experience of trying to get off that damn ship. It was awful.
We just got off the Carnival Dream and it was marvelous.the crew was absolutely fabulous with exception of 2 . One at pixels the other I don't remember lol.this was the 2nd time on the Dream, In a row 6 months apart. Going on the Vista in April 6 months away. We r so blessed.
We have only been on 6 Carnival and 3 Royal Caribbean cruises so far but we have thoroughly enjoyed them all. The only thing they had in common was that they were all out of Miami or Port Canaveral. We did have to travel to get there but it has been well worth it so far. I hope your next cruise is much more enjoyable for you. 😎
Yep. That’s why we finally gave up on Carnival, even with them trying to peddle us free casino cruises weekly. The ships are overcrowded and a majority of passengers feral. It’s like they’ve had their first ever beer and are in a race to cram as much food down their gullets as they can. However, we always have nice things to say about the crew as they’re clearly saints for dealing with such heinous people. Blast me if you want, but if you’re looking for anything other than a drunken festival with people who act like it’s the first time they’ve been out in public, don’t go on Carnival.
We have sailed out of Galveston on the Vista and our experience was nothing like what you described. Our sailing was not perfect, but we had a good time. I am sorry your experience was atypical.
