Review summary

We highly enjoyed our trip and definitely plan to book again. COVID didn't damper our fun but it definitely was apparent the restrictions limitations it created across the ship. I wish there had been more entertainment shows at night and the thriller theatre open. We tried so many different foods which was fun, definitely a variety to choose from at each meal. I loved the water activity options on board and the many tropical ports of call to enjoy some sun and sand.

Embarkation

The ship was delayed due to fog, which I understand can't be helped. I didnot feel like carnival commincauted all that well with the cruisers as to new plans. I got more information from the people actually at the port then carnival. Once we did start boarding process, the line was long but it moved. the port staff tried so hard to get us on boarded as quick as they could.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Overall the food was very good, the steakhouse was our favorite. There were times at breakfast (main dining room) that the scrambled eggs were soggy or the sunny side up eggs were too cooked. The waffles were also cold and flavorless in main dining room. The melting cakes were only good if you ate early, if you came later in the evening they were more cake then melting cake. The eggs benedict in the buffet were rubbery. BBQ place overall was a disappointment for sure, potato salad had too big of potato pieces and absolutely no salt in it, the brisket was burnt and sausage tough, but not nearly as tough as chicken sausage you would get for breakfast across the ship. That all said we did have some amazing meals in all the restaurants and some unforgettable food by far.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Went to hot tubs a lot (you need more, especially if serenity has to be closed due to high winds); sky ride fun (weigh limit seems a little low for men), enjoyed the game room (a little sad you have to pay for bowling activity though); bingo was a lot of fun (could there be a package that is cheaper without more markers though?); big band theory & harry potter trivia fun but honestly ridiculously hard; towel folding (loved it); spa massages (definitely enjoyed, however didn't appreciate upselling of their products when the experiences is already much more expensive then anywhere else, also let your guests know prior that gratuity is already added to bill so guest do not tip twice... that was an expensive day but we didn't want to ask for our cash tip back); saw the new Spiderman movie in the Imax which was wonderful; tried our luck at the casino

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Love & marriage show was hilarious; 1 of the three comedians was really funny (saw him twice, Alex Elkins), Danny Blevins was not funny (only saw under 18 show), and last guy was ok, more crude then funny in my opinion; Flick was ok, definitely good singers but not really a show that was entertaining; 80s party seemed more like group karaoke then truly a fun party

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Loved everyone, they were so nice and helpful. I personally had not one complain to me about the their exhaustion due to long contracts or anything and I feel that sure shows the character and integrity due to the strenuous nature of their jobs right now.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Sometimes it was frustrating that you couldn't get to certain part of the floors from all stairwells. Cleanliness was excellent, they were trying their hardest for sure.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
For my husband and I the space was perfect. I loved our balcony.

Ship tip

Pay close attention the first day to which stairwells actually allow you out onto the floors because it will be easier later on to get around.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

I didn't get to see much here due the tardiness of my boat and my husband was not sure about exploring the city at sunset.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Enjoyed our excursion and the beautiful country side

Belize City, Belize

Enjoyed our excursion, a little harder to get away from port and explore the city on your own was how we felt

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Great place, wish we had gone to carnival's each. Did enjoy our excursion though

Fast and easy, only complaint we couldn't hear annoucnmenets in Horizon restaurant and didn't know that till we left and were told we had missed a few announcements.
