Had a great cruise. The ship is newer, the crowds were smaller, and the ports were great with some fun excursions.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Was a little rough. We had all of the required documents, however, apparently our vaccine provider did not properly annotate the lot numbers of the shots. The Carnival staff helped us work through this issue but it was stressful and added an extra hour to the embarkation process. Recommend double checking your vaccine card to make sure your provider wrote the lot number.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Anytime dining was great. Generally < 5 minute wait for dinner. Brunch was 5-10 minute wait. Overall lots of choices and food quality was great. Our party used mostly the main dining room, coffee shop, 24 hour pizza place, Lido, and deli....though, we sampled almost every option.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Casino was fun. Fitness center was nice, lots of cardio though weight area was small. Pools were not too crowded with current lower occupancy. We had Havana pool access so our pool/hot tub area rarely had more than a few people in it. One of my sons used the basketball court a lot, which was great until someone dunked on the hoop and broke the rim.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
I did not go to too many shows. Comedy shows were good - definitely for adults and only sit in the front row if you want to be part of the show!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Room steward and wait staff had phenomenal customer service.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Convenient layout and common areas were kept very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We enjoyed the Havana rooms. We had one interior and one aft/extended balcony. Very quiet and had all of the amenities we needed.
Ship tip
Now is a great time to cruise with the lower occupancy on the ship. Folks were very diligent about wearing masks when inside and not eating/drinking. The Havana rooms are nice if you can afford the extra expense.
