This was our second cruise it was nice. I would do this ship and itinerary again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very smooth. Dropped off our luggage, parked, got in line. Line moved quickly. People were friendly. We had our box of pop opened and checked. We were told they are supposed to do every box of pop now. We spoke to someone else who had neither box opened so who knows.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
This was our first time with Your Time Dining. It seemed to be under staffed. We did have nice waitstaff but they could have been more personable if there had been more staff.
JiJi Asian Kitchen
3 out of 5
Food took an hour to get. We were set near the kitchen and smoke rolled out to us twice. Made it difficult to breathe but we stuck it out. The food was good but the wait made it a so-so experience. Staff were nice and our water was filled a couple of times.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Plenty to do if you want.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Nice shows. Volume is far too loud but I had earplugs with me.
Schwartz is a great cruise director, never a dull moment. The Fun Squad is very good. Lawrence was my favorite.
Leo’s trivia was good
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff was great but overworked. The ship is understaffed. 37 rooms for 1 steward and a shared “runner” between another steward is not sufficient. Your Time Dining room was understaffed as well.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
There really is nothing wrong with the floor plan. It takes some getting used to but it can be done. Study the floor plans ahead of time. You don’t have to go through the casino if you don’t want to. Go up one floor and problem solved.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Size was fine. The 2 USB ports were nice, there was 1 outlet alongside them on the desk. Ron, our steward, was great. He was always friendly and remembered our names. I believe the cabin stewards have far too many cabins to take care of. Our room was always clean and done but 35-38 rooms for 1 steward with a shared runner is too much.
Ship tip
Study the floor plans beforehand. Ignore bad reviews experience it for yourself.
We rented a taxi and went downtown to shop. Yes people were always trying to sell us stuff but this is their livelihood. No thank you was usually sufficient. Only had one person be overly pushy. Taxis were everywhere so getting back was no problem.
Same had booked an excursion through the same “company “ for this port too so, same scam. People here were awesome as well. People helped us find an excursion for a great price. We did sloth, monkey, and macaw excursion. Also a chocolate factory.
The people were SO nice and friendly and helpful. We had been scammed on our excursion. The people there helped us find the same excursion at a great price. We went cave tubing.
We were delayed getting into port. Coast Guard had closed the channel. The one piece of information I believe they should have told us much quicker was what to do. Should we keep our luggage/carry on with us? Should we leave it in the room? Should we go ahead and follow the waiting place instructions? They finally did tell us but earlier would have been nice.
