The Vista isn't a bad ship but I probably won't ever sell in it or a vista class ship again. The lack of an atrium and weird layout is a big turnoff. It's a weird ship because it is so close to the Dream class ship but so different also. It has alot to offer over the Dream class ships which is nice but not worth it in my opinion. We've sailed the Magic once and Dream twice. Yes we are use to the Dream class and may be somewhat bias but the Vista didn't have enough to offer to make us want to book it again. The Family Harbor rooms and lounge are amazing and a huge plus! The Havana area and rooms look to be a huge plus but didn't personally see anything more than bar area. The waterpark area is awesome! The skyride is pretty cool but you will be waiting on a sea day for awhile. We were concerned about lines and wait times for everything on the ship but were surprised with how little it felt crowded. We loved the cruise and the Vista didn't ruin our cruise by any means but was somewhat disappointing.
Embarkation

Only gave 1 star because the lady getting our pictures for sail and sign account put the wrong pictures on wrong accounts and had to go get it fixed. We were faster to the fun and we the first ones in line of our group of 30 and were the last to board well after our non FTTF in our group. I know it was a probably one time fluke and if it hadn't happened would have been no issues but I'm rating our actual experience not what it could have been. It really made for a miserable boarding experience with a 2, 4, and 8 year old dying to get in the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Did not have any issues with food or drinks for the most part. The main complaint would be the chocolate melting cake was not as good on other ships.

Only gave 2 stars because the staff never seemed nice or caring. The wouldn't try to help get our crying 2 and 4 year old in one bit. I went in one night to pick up my sleeping 2 year old and his cousin was in there and thought we were getting her to but we weren't so she started crying and one of the staff said why are you crying?? It was a simple question it was a rude statement like she shouldn't be crying. Would give it 1 star but my 8 year old loved it.
Service and Staff

Our room steward I Ketut was awesome and did a fantastic job! Main dining staff was awesome as well couldn't have asked for better! Lead waiter was "Kary". I don't remember his whole name as it was long and hard to pronounce but it was Kary......... I wish remembered the others names. One of them would cut all the kids food if needed and there were around 10-15 kids.
Ship Quality

We did not like the layout of the floors and hated the Atrium. We knew going in about those 2 so it wasn't a surprise. We spent no time in the atrium area other than for pictures. Everything seemed clean for the most part
Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was good for 5 of us but of course on the tighter side for space. Had a good amount of closet space though! Cabin was pretty clean but not spotless in some small areas.
Ship tip
Try to get a room on midship and middle of the decks as they wait on almost all the elevators is rather long.
I have the a neutral rating because we had to wait for coast guard to give us the okay to dock because if a sunken boat they were trying to retrieve and cost us a couple hours of waiting. Obviously if that didn't happen it would have been much better but I'm rating our actual experience and not what it could have been.
A little late on replying but I liked the Vista and it definitely has a lot to offer just hated the layout. At this point I would sail on it again mainly for the family harbor and the options it has compared to the other ships. The 3 main things that caused my review to get a 3.8 was 1. Embarking was a nightmare with FTTF but only because the lady checking us in put the wrong pictures on 2 accounts and took about 15 minutes to get it changed. 2 We did not like the layout and lack of atrium. 3 camp ocean workers were not near as nice, caring, and loving as our past cruises. We still had a blast and loved the vacation though!
After reading the review summary a 3.8 rating doesn’t seem to match ? Thanks for the information though! We are going on the Vista July 18th- so excited especially about being in the Havana area!

Very surprised I sailed twice on the Vista. I enjoyed what it had to offer and would sail it again. I must say I never had sailed on a bad Carnival ship they all have their own personalities.
