Just finished cruising on the Vista out of Galveston. Enjoyable experience overall, but dining room was not up to standard of previous cruises. Quality of food was good but service was slow.

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Quality of food in the dining room was good, but service was slow. Interrupting dinner for the waitstaff “Showtime” dance routine every single night got to be aggravating instead of amusing. Dress standards were ignored; ball caps and t-shirts were obvious even on elegant nights. Also, on previous cruises the maitre d stopped by our table to about our dining experience; we never saw him/her at any meal.

Room steward John on deck 9 was excellent. Alchemy bar staff were outstanding

Ship Quality

Elevators were hard to use because of crowding and many being out of service

There were fewer available drawers than on older, smaller ships

I don't understand why it matters if one wears t-shirts & ball caps while dining. I can understand during formal night otherwise who cares?

My recent cruise on the Pride was the same. Extremely slow service in the dining room. Food quality not as good as previous cruises.

Americans dont seem to take any notice of dress codes and the crew avoide confrontation. It's a " my vacation I do as I please" self entitled attitude

I had same experience my first time on Vista since I did Dream twice and was used to its layout.
