Review summary

Ship layout is terrible. Long waits for elevator service, crowded narrow passageways, plenty of obstructive obstacles. Large ship but they have built in restrictive, narrow, and claustrophobic areas. Buffet and dining area are terribly designed with obstructive poles and fake palm trees. Difficult to navigate around when it’s crowded. People were bumping into each other and food and broken dishes littered the area. Their designated smoking areas were the pits! All aroung the upper area of the front and back pool area! There was no way to enjoy sitting by the pools without breathing cigarette and cigar smoke! Nasty. The food boarded on inedible. Lunch buffet was a strange concoction of leftovers of meals the day before. Fried rice, sweet potatoe casserole, pumpkin enchiladas, I’ll say that again, pumpkin enchiladas?!?,no vegetables, some over cooked dried out carved meat. Dinner, just repeat of lunch. Best meal we had was the room service BLT. How sad is that? We theorized that the awful food was their way of driving customers to the 5 upcharge restaurants. Last morning and afternoon was a nightmare. Port of Galveston was closed due to fog. Not anything Carnival was responsible for, but it was handled poorly. We knew we would miss our 4:00 flight out of Houston Hobby but trying to cancel and rebook the next day was extremely difficult because our room phone would crash and continually had to be unplugged to reboot. Cellular at sea, was expensive and would drop your call every time an announcement was made. Which brings me to the cruise director, a complete fool. What a babbling bull pooper. Loved to hear his own voice....took forever for him to get to the point. We are one cruise away from Diamond with Carnival, but I think we are done. With all the upcharges, they are making Celebrity look like a better option.

We booked a reservation at Mr. Sancho’s Beach Resort online before we on cruise. Wonderful, relaxing, fabulous service. We had a great day!

Belize City, Belize

We when out to a little island to snorkel. Booked on board. Long boat ride on hard fiberglass seating. No amenities on board except water and a marine toilet. The lunch provided was marginally edible. Lot of waste as people only had a bite or two before throwing away. Nice sunny day, enjoyed watching the pelicans, and their birds.

We did an excursion to a beach house. Great food and drinks. Beautiful beach and extended dock with covered area and a hammock. Very relaxing, and totally enjoyed the day.

Disembarkation

Delayed due to harbor closing because of fog. Didn’t get off the ship until 4:30 in the afternoon. Weather is not the fault of the cruise line, but the way they addressed it was.

I have been in the vista and in my humble opinion this is a high maintenance person that is never happy. Ship and staff were great. You ruined your own cruise by taking yourself

Probably was not even on the cruise. She said that she only needs 1 more cruise to diamond but she has 179 cruised days listed on her profile and another 3 cruises scheduled with carnival.

The Vista is great! Nothing will make this person happy. So NEGATIVE! They need to stop cruising. I would guess nothing makes them happy. The smoking areas are nowhere near the pool areas. I could go on and on too but there would be no point. Go on the Vista people you will have a ball.

Oh my goodness! Ok, as for the food, lunch was free in the Italian restaurant daily and in the Asian restaurant, both very good. You will always have hit or miss with these things. We found the ship to be awesome, no issues except the smoke, I agree with that. Everyone deals with issues differently and everyone's experience will be different.

Wow what a princess. We have been on the vista twice and loved the layout. Its different and i dont usually like change but i thought the areas were very roomy. And then they complain about being delayed by the fog and missing their flight....that sucks but poop happens people but ur big girl panties on and deal.
