I've been on a lot of ships, this is not one I would be anxious to go on again.

Ship Quality

I just found the layout of this ship difficult to navigate. I'm willing to admit that I haven't been on a lot of Carnival ships and maybe that was the cause.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was nice. It was a balcony room. Our room stewardess was great. BUT, in an effort to keep people from leaving their balcony doors open while the ship is sailing, they have eliminated sliding glass doors and installed regular glass doors. So, when you sit out on your balcony, all you hear is a constant barrage of doors slamming shut. . . .its just bang, bang, bang.

Ship tip

Dont sign up for anytime dining. It's a mess. You have to check in online and then they tell you approximately how long you will have to wait. If we signed in right at 5:30, we had about a 45 to 55 minute wait. Anything after that, was over an hour. And just because it says 55 to 65 minutes, doesn't mean its do. It might go to 30 to 40 minutes and stay there for 30 minutes before it goes to 25 to 30 minutes. Once, it stayed on 10 to 15 minutes for half an hour.

Disembarkation

This was a disaster. You have to be our of your room at 8:30...normal. Then we sat in a lounge until 10:00 (scheduled to get off at 9:30. . .so not too bad). Once we got off, the line and congestion were crazy. We did not actually get out of the dock until 11:45. Probably half the ship carried their own luggage off and therefore got off before everyone else.

We were able to figure the layout in about a couple hours. Not too hard with signs everywhere

Well I was on the same sailing day & I had no issues at all. What I learned from cruising in the vista is the following. Book your cabin on deck 3 & you won’t have any problems getting off the ship. I booked on deck 3 the first time I cruise in the vista. Then I did it again on thanksgiving cruise & now in the panorama. Same thing deck 3. You will get off the ship with the diamond & platinum folks with no issues 😳😳😳

Unfortunate to hear about your experience. We personally loved Vista (so much so we're booked on Horizon & Panorama) and do nothing but the Your Time Dining now since it's so convenient. Sounds like youdbe happier with the set early dining time. The Havana Cabanas have sliding glass doors. Also, always be sure to study deckplans before boarding to quickly get your bearings.

Deck plans are available everywhere online. No excuse for not knowing basic layout of ship before boarding.

The Vista is at the bottom of the Carnival ships we have sailed. Sadly, Carnival balcony doors are all like that (at leading all the ships we have sailed). Debarkation has never been my favorite thing, no matter where. That said, glad you made the best of your cruise.πŸ›³

The airboat adventure excursion says it's 2 hours and 45 minutes. From the time we got to the lounge to wait, it was over 5 hours. It's a 45 minute bus ride to and from the airboat. They tell you about the manatees but we saw nothing but some birds and lily ponds.
