Review summary

Carnival did not handle the ship breaking situation very well. When I found out about it the would not give me a refund when I asked for one. They waited until I got there, got checked in, and the ships about to sail to offer a refund to get off the ship. I had my whole family, there was no time and the boats about to leave.

@ Imajel the passengers on my cruise only got offered a full refund, if they got off of the ship prior to departure. Some of those said passengers got a free cruise. Those of us who stayed and couldn’t, or didn’t change our plans got a $200 onboard credit and %50 off of our next cruise.

@saxyshan yeah a lot of us with upcoming cruises were waiting and watching while they kept adding days and changing itineraries. They should have cancelled it with the cruise immediately after discovering the problem. I’m glad you still had a good time.

@DFromATX the crew was awesome! Through it all, they gave their all! Even though Carnival (corporate) didn’t handle things well, the crew went above and beyond to make this a great experience for us. Believe it of not, most of them didn’t know what was going on until we set sail.

@gostars - I believe yours is the last cruise before the repairs. I’m sure it’ll be fine. And, like someone else said, John Heald will be on your cruise, which is pretty neat! If you don’t already, you should check out his page on that website that we’re not allowed to mention here for some reason. I hope you enjoy your cruise and no matter what happens, don’t let it deter you from any future cruises. 🛳😎

I don’t blame you for being upset. I was supposed to cruise 7/20, but it was cancelled. We are disappointed, but they are refunding us AND giving us a free cruise credit so that makes it a lot better! I would have hated the last minute changes.

The specialty restaurants are delicious! We always book them. Sea day brunch is a must, as is afternoon tea. Guy's Burgers and BlueIguana are very good. On the Serenity Deck there is a salad bar that we enjoyed. I don't usually do the buffet. I wish I were going July 1st. John Heald, Carnival's brand ambassador, will be on board. There should be many fun things to do. Go on board with a positive attitude and have fun!

Oh wow. That sucks and especially since I’m Seeing more negative reviews. I leave July 1 and this will be my first cruise. I am still hoping for the best and maybe I won’t book too many of the specialty dining either.
