Overall it was a great cruise. The ship was beautiful as expected, brand new ship. Our room was top of the line, the next trip we took on the Horizon we stayed in the Havana Suite and it made all the difference in the world.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Seems as if the crew at NY was not use to such a large ship. Our departure was delayed for hours. Luggage Sitting on the docks for hours
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
All the food and dining experiences were great. Love the steak house and Chef's tables, they are our favorite places
Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse
5 out of 5
Never miss this on any Carnival Ship we have sailed on. The food is off the chart. Usually book two nights on each trip. I suggest you book in advance of your trip. Trying to book on the ship is a nightmare.
Chef's Table
5 out of 5
A must do for anyone that loves to eat and appreciates exotic food and being pampered.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pools and public areas were great but very crowded and not easy to relax around the pools. Fitness center was top quality and so was the spa
Entertainment
4 out of 5
All the entertainment we did was excellent. The shows were fun.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Love the staff and the service was aces.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It was a brand new ship. It would have received 5 stars if they had devoted more of the extra space in this new class of ship to public areas. Instead it seems like they just packed in the people.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
As usual the suite was fantastic. Roomy, great bathroom and facilities, beautiful balcony and the room service was great.
Ship tip
Book your room in the Havana section and if you can do it book one of the 4 Havana Suites. We did on the Horizon and it made all the difference in the world between two cruises on pretty much identical ships.
Better than getting on but I still think NY was not use to such a big ship. The luggage staging area was a mess. Ended up leaving a piece of luggage at the port and had to return the next day.
