Overall this was a great cruise. I got to spend a lot of valuable time with my dad. That is what this cruise was really about for me. We laughed, hung out and explored together. It's a great time to slow down and reconnect. My mom passed last year, but I know she was smiling down on us and would be so happy that we took this opportunity to make wonderful memories.
Embarkation

Embarkation was very smooth and painless.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The good was awesome and the staff was great.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We really enjoyed the spa as we had access differe to staying in a spa balcony stateroom. The skyride was fun. We made sure to do that right away to avoid long lines.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The music was fantastic. The DJ's were great as well as the love music around the ship. The singing in the shows was subpar. As Simon Cowell would say "it was very pitchy". The comedians were okay. Not the best, but good for a few laughs.
Children's Programs
Didn't have any kids traveling.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward Jonnathan was great. He always greeted us by name. The waiters in the MDR did the same. It was a nice touch. Everyone I encountered was friendly and willing to help.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
I liked the ship but I did miss not having a true atrium. Also, for the ship to be so large kr didn't feel that big. I think it was because the weren't a lot of really open spaces. Everything was compartmentalized. Not a big deal, just something I noticed. The ship was very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was amazing. It is port side so we were able to see the towns and watch as passengers disembarked and scrambled back. We had the room set up with the two twin beds but we'd still had enough room. It was a little squeeze to get around one bed, but not a big deal. Jonnathan always had our room clean after we left in the morning. He asked right away his often are wanted the room cleaned. We chose one time, in the morning and that instruction was followed to a T.
Ship tip
If you are an adult, try the salad bar on the Serenity deck. I didn't try until the last day and now I wish I had tried it sooner. It may have saved me a few lbs.
The free beach is nice. Plenty of chairs and the water was great. I think it's worth the extra cost to rent a cabana or the clam shell that goes over the chairs for added shade.
This was horrible. We were on the 12th deck and had our luggage. We were some of the last called. Even after some of those with checked luggage. We actually followed the rules. Now I see why so many did not.
Nice review. I’m sorry about your mom and glad you and your dad could spend some quality time together. When is the salad bar available on the serenity deck?
