Review summary

Carnival Vista ship layout sucks, use the carnival hub app. Food in the main dining is average some is gross, cold. Guy's burger, bbq, the pizza, seafood shack, Mongolian Wok, JiJi's are excellent. Get ready for crazy lines on the buffets, especially any time during breakfast on port days. Ports were awesome, Jomar our room steward and his team was above 5 star!! room was nice, very clean. Staff was very friendly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Not a complainer, had an excellent time, some foods were cold, lobster tail was OK 1 was chewy, curried shrimp was terrible, buffets especially in the morning were busy with long lines. JiJi specialty restaurant was excellent staff was over the top great. Guy's burgers and Pig and anchor were excellent with awesome and friendly staff. The Blue Iguana was Phenomenal probably the best food on the ship. Mongolia Wok was absolutely some of the best. terrible wait times though, literally like 40 minutes everyday (got there at noon, one and 1230). The pizza was very good, sauce was good and fresh dough.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
No rock climbing, basketball court was nuts, long lines the one day they operated the sky ride. pools, were nice good temperature, close to beverage area, fitness center had a mild funk

Entertainment

Children's Programs

They were bored, did not think that it was very fun. had whiny kids throwing tantrums

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Jomar and his team, our room steward was the very best we have ever had, they bent over backwards and made our week clean and excellent!!! ship personnel were very welcoming and nice lots of smiles. Wait staff especially Mira and Sonja (teams) were so great. Mark, Fabricisco, and staff were excellent at the Alchemy Bar. Excellent drinks and great atmosphere. Loved watching them make drinks it was fun.

Ship Quality

Hated the layout. lido,11, & 12 was the only good decks. Casino made the common area stink like smoke and ashtrays.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Jomar and his team kept our room very clean and made us comfortable in every way. Towel origami was so neat, they made a different one for each room every day, so fun. never, had to ask for a towel, soap, tp, or anything!! Always on top of the game.

Ship tip

Use the carnival hub app and the maps. They layout sucks, so leave early to get to places as you may have to go up and down stairs and around just to get to places.

Jeff our driver was awesome. Kept us comfortable, told us about the areas we were touring, took us to the affluent neighborhoods, took us shopping, got some Red Stripe, went to the beach, ate great food!!! beautiful place!!

George Town, Grand Cayman

We did the sting ray bar, hell, and sea turtles! Best excursion ever!! Hell was stupid, waste of time. wish we would have had that 20 minutes at the sea turtle area.

Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel was awesome, pretty! Get out of the trap and hit the flea market where you can wheel and deal.

Glad overall it was good. I see lots of complaints on the layout, especially the lounge. We cruise on the Vista in July so at least that won’t be a surprise to us. I’ve thought the lobster on all my cruises so far has been super tough. I don’t even wanna order it anymore, but that’s ok, plenty of other options!
