Review summary

As another reviewer said, the Vista has no wow factor. The lobby is boring, the Liquid Lounge is way to small and so is the Limelight Lounge. But there are still lots of positives. Chris, the CD was amazing. The food was good in the buffet, the MDR and Guy's Burgers were great. Loved the comfortable outdoor furniture on the 11th deck, above the pool. Always plenty of empty seats on our Oct. 14 cruise. Ocean suite cabin had less storage than on the Breeze and a noticeably smaller balcony but big room and great bathroom. Loved the IMAX theater. Got to see First Man on our first sea day. Not in love with the Vista but still love cruising!

Ship tip

Liquid Lounge is a disaster. Upper level has almost no good seats, main level also bad and WAY to small. I have no idea what Carnival was thinking.

Ports of call

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras Did not visit port

Strong winds kept ship from being able to dock but we were able to return to Cozumel for a second visit which was fine with us. Had a great time, as always.

Disembarkation

Kudos to Carnival for enforcing disembarkation rules. We had priority for the self-carry since we had a suite. We saw people trying to get off the ship when their # hadn't been called. They were not allowed to exit. In 14 cruises we've never seen the rules enforced. I hope they keep up this welcomed practice.

When I said the lobby was boring, I meant the decor, not the activities. It lacks the elegance that most ship's lobbies have.

Yes. Chris did a fun Beatles trivia. Electric violin trio, country singer, etc.

I think the debarkation process is being enforced by the cruise director. We had Chris on the Dream and it was the only time I have known it to be enforced; people had to get out of line and wait their turn! Called out! If this were done more often, it sure would help. Debarkation has almost always been a mess. ....& maybe Carnival is trying to keep folks out of the atrium so they will spend time elsewhere on the ship 🤷🏻‍♀️. Does the atrium on the Vista host any entertainment; music, dancing, 80's name that tune??

I've always heard that Carnival intentionally keeps the lounges smaller for the nightclub feel. I wonder if they will do this on their next generation of ships which are supposed to be much much larger

We found the ship to be beautiful. Will admit to still favoring the magic but booked on vista again for next summer. Love the havana cabins!!!!
