Review summary

Compared to my other Carnival & Royal Caribbean cruises Carnival Vista's Casino is much smaller, VERY SMOKEY, poor ventilation. Guest Services ALWAYS had a long line, need more people working. You took away the extra closet space and drawers out of the cabins making us live out of suit cases. put the 3rd closet & Draws back. I hate that after 10pm you have to pay for room service now. All the hallways & elevators were HOT & MUGGY. Squeezing all the people in the Limelight for comedy instead of having it in the Liquid Lounge, the last night it was and it was great. Half the people were allowed to stay in the Limelight with the line for the next show all the way down past the Sports Bar. past cruises everyone had to leave to give other people a chance to hear the comedy. Bingo is the same price but play less games. What happen to the shows? The entertainment? Gratuity should not be auto billed and to make us stand in long lines to take it off is Horrible. I spent way to much time standing in guest services lines instead of enjoying my cruise. Need more smoking sections. Why can't we smoke on the balcony any more? We chose Carnival over all other cruise lines, after this cruise we will try others. I would like to say the Dinning staff Gregorio, Roger & Silver were a GREAT team and very nice people. Room Steward Herman was the BEST. I lost my phone and the Guest Service people were very compassionate and nice just didn't like standing in a long line every time to ask if someone turned my phone in. I never got it back. I did do a report through carnival.

I hated the new lay out and it was one of the worst carnival cruises ive ever had.

I agree! We sailed on Vista when it first arrived in Miami and did not enjoy it at all. The food was horrible and service was terrible. That experience conviced my wife and I to try Royal Caribbean, carnival is not the same as it used to be.

This ship is bigger but not better. It is poorly laid out and a lot of walking in circles. The signage is poor and the restrooms are hidden. Too many guests and not enough staff. Be prepared to stand on many lines. I continue to travel on Carnival but this ship was the worst. Your cruise is what you make it but to many of the little things are missing and it makes it annoying to have to keep asking. Do not sweat the small stuff.

There is no smoking on balconies because a lit cigarette or a smoldering butt could blow back into the ship and cause a fire which is a catastrophic event on a ship

-Actually, Carnival is among the last cruise lines to still allow casino smoking.... -But I do feel bad to hear about long lines, not just from this reviewer, as it’s a frequent concern on many other reviews.

I am a non smoker and would like to see them ban smoking on the inside of the ship. I can not enjoy the casino because of all the smoke smoke on open decks only I don't want your second hand smoke.

I would like to think that there's no more smoking on the balconies to be sensitive to the rest of us who don't smoke. On my last cruise we apparently had a smoking neighbor and it kept us from being able to enjoy our balcony on too many occasions. The Vista oceanview and balcony rooms have 3 closets, only the interior rooms have 2 and it's the same on other Carnival ships. Yes the room service costs more at night, but other lines like NCL don't even offer free room service. They charge a flat rate of $7.95 all day. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your time on the Vista. I get to go in May and I'm really looking forward to it. It'll be our 1st new ship after sailing exclusively on the west coast with the smaller ships. I'm super excited the Panorama will be at my home port so we won't have the expense of airfare soon.
