Review summary

We really enjoyed being on the Carnival Vista, which is one of the newest ships in Carnivals Fleet. It had so many things to see and do on this ship we always had things available for us to do if we wanted to. The ship is huge and takes some time to get from the Forward area of the ship to the Aft of the ship. Many venues for eating different foods if wanted, from Sea food, hamburgers and fries, Burritos and Tacos, Asian cuisine, Italian fare, Pizza, Deli Sandwiches, Ice Cream, and on and on and on.

Embarkation

Embarkation was flawless. We arrived at the Port of Miami by car and pulled in to the drop off area to unload our luggage. We were greeted a very polite baggage handler who took our luggage and prepared it for boarding on the Carnival Vista. From there we drove across the street, parked in "D" Garage, and walked back across the street, were we were directed to The Priority Embarkation lounge. We sat down to wait for boarding and within 30 minutes we were called on to board the ship. A very smooth operation.

Food and Dining

We were quite disappointed in the food offerings in the Main Dining Room. In all of our past 17 Carnival Cruises we always ate meals in the dining room and enjoyed them. The food selections offered on the New Dining Menu were for the most part nothing that we cared to eat. We ate in the Dining Room only 4 of the 8 Evenings of our cruise, with two of those days selecting items off of the daily food options and not from the selected menu. My wife and I were very discouraged with the Dining Room food choices. We ate most of our meals at the Lido Marketplace Buffet. PS: The service in the dining room was absolutely wonderful.

Service and Staff

As always on our Carnival Cruises the service from all of the ships employees was magnificent. Our Room Steward, Oakley, really improved our stay on the ship because of his excellent care to details in having our room prepared superbly each and every day. He was a very friendly guy, that didn't mind stopping and talking to my wife and I whenever we saw him.

Ship Quality

The layout and the offerings this ship has keeps everyone busy having a wonderful time if they want to partake in all of the stuff available. The entire ship was polished and spit shined at all times of the day; a real credit to the crew.

Cabin / Stateroom

As I mentioned earlier, the Room Steward, Oakley, kept our room spotless the entire cruise. The room was comfortable and spacious enough for an 8 day cruise.

Disembarkation

Being Priority Level we opted for Self Disembarkation. We were told to assemble in the dining room for 7:15 am with our suitcases. We got to the dining room with our suitcases at about 6:30 am. We sat down for about 10 minutes when they started to let us off the ship. We went through Customs, walked across the street to our car in the parking garage. We loaded our suitcases and were the road by 7:05 am. Very smooth and flawless.
