Review summary

The Visit was a juice ship, more oriented for families with kids, which is great. Too big means too crowded. Menus at buffets seemed stale. I love biscuits and graveyard, which there were none, but I understand, not all are from the south. The shopping area on ship seemed "packed" into a space. We like the open air, great atriums. Will I cruise again on Carnival? Probably not, unless we go with our kids and grand kids again. We cruise a lot with other couples (retired) and enjoy another line.

About normal. Helpful employees. I did not like coming on board ship and run first thing into a bar. This was a BIG BOTTLENECK! I get it, people want to drink, but not at the first twenty feet of the gangway.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Not impressed with dining room. Just so so. Seemed the waiters had too many tables to take care and were too quick to rush in and rush out. They were trying hard, you could tell that. We sat each night at 5:30, never got out before 7:00 to make it to shows in time to find seats. Had hard time keeping tea glasses refilled. Food was good but not outstanding. The buffets, well, STAND IN LONG LINES WAITING. Example, if you just wanted a salad, you stood in line with people that wanted everything. We like the smaller buffets were you cane use two sides, each buffet is for groups of food, meat, salads, desserts.........no lines! No biscuits, gravy or grits served😡 Bacon was never cooked crisp!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The grand kids enjoyed the sky rider and slides. I enjoyed the covered deck 11 around the pool. The kids enjoyed the word games, trivia and bingo

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Not good at all. Did enjoy the show in the liquid lounge with the large group of singer/dancer about Rick and roll. The juggler guy was so so. The 3 piece brass group playing one time was not very good. The little entertainers were just so so, nothing really stood out

Children's Programs

The grands enjoyed the Oceans Club.

Service and Staff

Room Stewart, Frank was real good. Very friendly and made our down time enjoyable. I order an anniversary package on Thursday for our room. It was set up nicely. Thanks! The waiters in the Horizen Resturant were ok, over extended I believe on number of tables served. All ships company were very polite and friendly

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean and seemed well maintained. However, you need to check out the 110v outlet in room 9305. We had ships electricians come check it out. Seemed like not enough voltage to heat up a curling iron. The men tightened connections in the breaker panel but did not help. I believe there is a break down in the wiring its self. Got good voltage reading but didn't have the amps. Tested curling iron out when we got home, it heats up fast and hot. Also, the shower drains real slow in the room.

Cabin / Stateroom

Great accommodations for two people. Frank did a great job as a stewart

Ship tip

Get ready to be crowded and wait in lines

About normal. Good employees that were very helpful moving all along

Grand Turk Island

Reefs and Rays was our choice. Good excursion although the reef we snorkeled wasn't as pretty as we were lead to believe. Interact with the sting rays was real good

La Romana, Dominican Republic

Bay abide Beach Resort was nice. Beach was clean, staff was real nice. The pools were dirty and the food was ok.

Oranjestad, Aruba

VIP Cruise and Snorkle was fantastic. The crew was awesome, the small reef we snorkeled was great. The schooner we were on was in great shape and we had a blast. Would highly recommend

Willemstad, Curacao

Port area with the locals not so charming. Went to a beach near by....pay to get in, pay for chairs, pay more for better chairs, pay more for water to wash off sand from feet. Pay $1 to use restroom

Disembarkation

About normal, the flow was pretty good. I did not like the baggage area. The luggage carousel. Why tag your bag with a number if they all go to the merry go round. Would rather see baggage staged in groups according to ships tag numbers. Shuttle to FTL airport was comfortable

Funny that you say the Vista is too crowded, when Royal Caribbean has many more people on theirs mega ships.
