It was a wonderful vacation. We can't wait for our next cruise, but we will be looking to make sure Matt Mitcham is on board so we can extra fun with the family.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was pretty smooth, especially since we went on our scheduled time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was excellent. Lots of variety. The Lido Marketplace is not well set up. They force you to get on line for everything. They have four areas, but all setup the same. If you just want to get milk, cereal, fruit or yogurt, you have to stand on line and wait for the folks getting eggs and all other stuff. They need to separate the foods so the folks don't need to make so many lines. Thank goodness for the Blue Iguana who have great huesos rancheros and breakfast burritos with very short lines. They are also opened for lunch. Guy's burgers are to die for with short lines. Red Frog Grill and Brewery has great conch fritters. The main dining room had awesome food and no repeats! We were a bit scared that you had to go to get your anytime dining table prior to going to dining room, but they have it setup so we never had to wait. They even gave us the same wait team every night because we loved them so much. The drinks were very good. We had purchased the soda card, but we realized that we would have been better off buying it as needed.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The activities were good, but what made it special was the Cruise Director, Matt Mitcham. We have cruised on many cruise lines, but we had never experienced such a warm and engaging person. He made the fun and engaged everyone. The outside activities are awesome. We love the outdoor activities, kept us busy during the days. The grand children were kept very busy and gave us time to relax poolside. The water slides are awesome and so is the water park area. The Skyride, mini golf and Obstacle Course is added fun. The
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The stage shows were good (not great), but the DJ and other performers were really good.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service was out standing in most places, except for one of the bartenders in the RedFrog rum bar. He was always in a bad mood. Luckily everyone else was wonderful.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was well designed and easy to navigate. Every was very clean and well kept.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was spacious and very nice. It was kept very clean.
Ship tip
Prepare for long lines in Lido Market place and eat at Guys burgers or Blue Iguana Cantina. Also get cereal and milk for the next days breakfast if your kids eat that for breakfast.
It was our first time here, but it was easy to get a taxi and he took us to the near by beach. It cost $15 person round trip, and you don't pay him until he brings you back to the ship.
This was awful. They encouraged people to take their luggage off themselves and it took forever. Since we were traveling with children, we let them take our luggage, but even though they gave us a number, all the luggage was put on two luggage carousel and it was a free for all. People were getting off before they were called. It was a terrible mess. Terrible way to end a wonderful vacation.
Yea I've read from some that say the lines are insane to others who say their not bad. ingress it's just when u get there or something....I'll see in 13 days
I've read a few comments about the vista.I've been on a couple of cruises and the complaints we're people saying that they had to wait Atleast 2hrs on the lido to eat.Just wondering
We've been on many, many cruises. Matt is by far the best cruise director we've ever experienced. And I've never been one to care much about the position one way or the other. I find most of them quite annoying. But that's a testament to how good a job he does and how much he stands out. I'd say promote him immediately as a trainer, but then he'd be missed.
