Review summary

I have been on many cruises with Carnival, Norwegian & Royal. This was a new ship so my expectations were a little high. For starters, the elevators need to be worked on. Too much congestion was a nuisance. The two restaurants that were available for 2 hours only was not good. The Mongolian & pasta they need to extend the hours on that.  I found that this ship had too many lines for just about everything. The hub app was a plus I did like that & how the photos are set up to purchase was a plus also. The phones to call a room were not working when I tried them. Comparing this ship to other carnival ships this ship needs to be worked on. Not sure if its who is managing this ship needs more training but I know that this fleet has been around too long for what I experience on the vista. When leaving to an island if you missed out on the announcement there was no one else to inform you & or a sign to go by, &  I am a cruiser so I  sort of knew were to go to disembark but what happens to the first time cruisers. I was a little disappointed I felt for a new ship it should have been a lot better. The pizza spot always had a huge line, the burger joint just as well. Everything was a line. I have to say the cruise director Matt was amazing. I also want to commend Isaias from the blue Iguana for always greeting me with a smile as they should he was amazing with his drinks & a pleasure to go to. My room steward Adi was also great. Very attentive to any thing I may have needed. He was fantastic. I also want to commend Joseph from the Havana bar for always staying on top of cleaning men that guy works. I told him to take a break. Great guy. I was disappointed we didn't make curacao so that just damper my spirits even more & I was ready to go back home right after.

Some crew members need to be a bit more friendly & smile. I also want to acknowledge JAVA JOE. He was amazing, friendly & so upbeat. Truly a pleasure to go get my coffee in the mornings, because he would always greet me with a smile & a good morning. He needs to move up in the ladder vista needs more Joes as crew members.

Ship Quality

Certain areas could have been a little more clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Loved my little patio. I do have to say the swing chair could have had a longer backside because you could basically sit not lean back. Other then that loved it.

Ship tip

Go 15 minutes before any of the restaurants are going to open ex: Guys burger, burrito spot, Mongolian & pasta to avoid getting in a long line.

La Romana, Dominican Republic

Next time I will book an excursion. Decided to walk the port which was not much & paid to go downtown that was a NIGHTMARE. I paid $10.00 roundtrip & I was there 10 minutes if that & came back to ship. Carnival has this as an excursion for $40. I think you guys need to remove this excursion. It only aggravated me as the locals harass the tourist not fun at all.

Willemstad, Curacao Did not visit port

Didn't get to see

Oranjestad, Aruba
