Good for the price

Sail Date: August 22, 2010

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

The carpet on the lower floors is worn out to bare spots, the service was fair at best. Although some of the service staff was very good, the over all attitude of most was fair at best. If you can get a great price, this is a great vacation, if the price were close to other cruise lines, take the other lines for better service.
The food was very good, great ports and I would go again if the price was low.

Pros: St. Martin fantastic shopping and prices, food good on ship

Cons: Service and attitude lower than past

Recommends Carnival Victory? Yes!

Service and Staff
Aside for the recipes that I requested and did get, the over all attitude of service was disappointing and rather poor in general. The attitude of many of the staff was rude and very unaccomidating.
Entertainment
The shows are outdated, with music that even the older passangers are sick of. When I commented to the entertainment staff about the dated and rather dull "entertainment" the comment was that it is too expensive to changed shows and sets.
The best show was the last night when the guests peformed.
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
Cabin / Stateroom
Our room stewart was very nasty and our room was not seviced properly, the comfort was very good, and I feel this room stewart was an exception to the rule, I adjusted his tip accodringly. We were very happy withour room comfort and sie.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
lower prices than any other port for just about anything, also beautiful beach right in the shopping district, must get back here, loved this island. Easy to get around use the water taxi for $6.00 all day long, fast back to ship for lunch and drop off items and then back to shop and swim, loved this island.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
prices higher than other ports, not a fan of this port
Basseterre, St. Kitts
prices better in town.
Castries, St. Lucia
Coconut rum lower in town.
Dominica
Nice items to buy from the locals, make sure to try to get lower price. People very nice.
Bridgetown, Barbados
Good shopping, Harrison's Caves- able to get to with city bus and save money on transportation.
