Review summary

What an enjoyable holiday experience. We boarded the Carnival Victory in Puerto Rico and were greeted by the most friendly people who made us feel like our holiday was the most important thing to them. We had a balcony stateroom which was great, lots of storage space so the room never felt cluttered and sitting out on the balcony as we pulled out of ports was lovely. The evening meals in the dining room were the central part of each evening, the quality and variety of food was superb and our waiters were fantastic - both highly professional and so much fun! The southern Caribbean trip that we were on stopped at a new location every day which really suited us, 3 of the days we took Carnival excusions and the other days we did our own thing. The most memorable excursion was on the first morning when we got a boat from St. Thomas to Tortola and went swimming with Dolphins - what an amazing experience. Our best beach days were relaxing in St. Kitts and St. Martin on white sand beaches enjoying what the Caribbean is all about. As a couple in our late 20's/early 30's this was the ideal ship for us. There were many similarly aged people on board and we made some great friends relaxing by the casino bar in the evenings after dinner. There was plenty of entertainment on the ship too, varying from comedy to magicians and music shows. Overall, we had a great stress free and relaxing holiday on the Carnival Victory, we got to see new place, meet new people and have a great time. I would definitely recommend it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dining room food quality and service was excellent, we had a fantastic waiter who made every evening meal so enjoyable. The buffet breakfast on Lido deck was a nightmare, long lines everywhere and masses of people stocking up on food, we opted for room service breakfast most mornings.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The entertainment on the ship was enjoyable. As the ship stopped off every day we only really went to the evening show most days. It was always enjoyable and a nice way to be entertained after dinner

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the ship staff were extremely friendly and helpful. In particular our waiter at dinner who was fantastic and the bar staff in the casino bar who were great fun. The man in charge of our stateroom was also so helpful and really made us feel welcome.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The only issue I have with this ship it the layout on the dining areas. On level 3 and 4 it seemed like you always had to walk through a dining room to get where you wanted to go.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our stateroom was great, plenty of space and storage area. Bed was comfortable and having a balcony was great.

Ports of call

Roseau, Dominica

Lovely day exploring the town and took a trip to a beautiful black sand beach

Bridgetown, Barbados

Went on a turtle snorkelling tour with a Catamaran cruise. The snorkelling was very crowded and we didn't really enjoy it, too many people swimming on top of each other. The Catamaran was great fun, the staff were great and the rum punch was flying

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We did not stay on St. Thomas but travelled to Tortola for a dolphin swim. This was a fantastic excursion and one of the highlights of the trip
Don't Miss: Dolphin Swim in Tortola

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Enjoyed a beautiful day at the beach - sun and white sands - what the Caribbean is all about

Castries, St. Lucia

3 out of 5
We had bad weather here which put a damper on the day. Went on a tour of Castries, to the drive in volcano and a catamaran tour. Nice day but the weather spoiled it quite a bit

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Another great day at the beach

Pros: Seeing a new place every day

Cons: The crowds at buffet breakfast
