First Time

Sail Date: February 15, 2009

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

This was our first cruise on Carnival Lines, and of course the first on Carnival Victory. We didn't know what to expect of Carnival. They were wonderful. The ship was spotless, the service prompt and impecable, the decor slightly garish, but pleasant, and the food and food service was great.
Cabin was spacious, and very clean and well maintained. Cabin steward was very helpful and responsive to our needs.
Overall, from embarcation to disembarcation, it rated as "exceeded our expectations"

Pros: For the first time, we booked a cruise via Vacation Outlet and it was the first time to cruise on Carnival Cruise Lines. The staff at Vacation Outlet was friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and very helpful. They followed up when they should have, and were always prompt, professional and courteous.

Bridgetown, Barbados
A great island. Lots to see, and friendly people.
Dominica
A pretty island, but with relatively poor infrasctructure. Long drives to see attractions.

Basseterre, St. Kitts
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Shopping in down town Charlotte Amalie is still one of the best shopping experiences in the Caribbean, although the abundance of people offering taxis and tours on the street can be a bit overwhelming.
