Review summary

We booked a suite which came with VIP status, but apparently that only meant getting in a shorter line to board the ship. We were traveling with another family and although confirmed the 2 families sitting together at dinner, Carnival had us in two different dining rooms. It was difficult to get this changed because the Matre D was never on duty when he was supposed to have been. They did put us together . . . at a table way in the back near the exit door. Our waiters were just OK and we were disappointed with the quality of food. The bar waiter came to our table, but never asked my husband and I if we wanted anything. Our stateroom was to accomodate 4, but when we arrived we found it was a suite for 3, so they gave us a cot that was always in the way when folded up and a hazard during the night because we had to put it in front of the door. They weren't able to convert the sofa because the back had been removed and the holes were still visable in the wall. If you ask any of the staff, they'll tell you they can't wait until they get on a different ship. We found a bar that had a really great bartender (Savio!!) and met some wonderful people there. The excursions were amazing, too. We had a nice time, but the bottom line is that we paid far too much for the quality of what we got.

Entertainment

We've been on other cruises that have much better entertainment, but their lead female singer was pretty good.

We took a rafting excursion, but afterwards didn't feel safe going back on the island to shop.
Don't Miss: River rafting was great fun!!

Castries, St. Lucia

St. Lucia is very poor, but making such an effort to attract tourists and it shows. We felt very comforable there!
Don't Miss: Horseback riding in the water!!

Bridgetown, Barbados

Went shopping . . . not as nice as St. Thomas. Would like to explore the island in more detail next time.

St. John's, Antigua

Their beaches are amazing!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We've been to St. Thomas before and the shopping there is the best. But, go to St. John if you can.
Don't Miss: Trunk bay excursion at St. John

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
St. Kitts is a breath-taking island. We had a great time kayaking and snorkeling (and the fish were beautiful!)
Don't Miss: Seeing the Atlantic and Caribbean Seas come close together . . . wow.

Pros: Island excursions
