This cruise was a perfect duration and relaxing enough to enjoy a vacation while also being entertained and experiencing beautiful new places.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The process to get onboard was tedious but there was plenty of staff and signage to get us through the process. I feel the sio I was ready for us sooner than expected.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
There were an abundance of food choices. I booked most of the specially dining locations before the trip began and am glad that I did. The main dining experience was excellent as well and the servers were attentive and engaging. The breakfast options could use more variety for people with dietary restrictions, and adding something other than lemonade to the free drink list would be excellent.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There were not enough pools on this ship or the pools were too small for the capacity. The deck views were great and there was typically enough seating available in the common areas. It would have been nice to have a greater abundance of activities for adults.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The comedy show were good and the several game shows were entertaining. I believe a greater number of game shows or performances would be a good addition because these were some of the highlights of the experience. The DJs were okay but not what I consider stellar.
Children's Programs
I had no children in the trip.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff was excellent and friendly. The dining staff were always attentive and engaging. The stewards were some of the nicest people on the ship and greeted us every time we met and asked about our stay and experience. They made the trip worthwhile.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was clean and there were no issues in that regard. The design was elegant and appealing, but the pools were too tiny and the Lido Deck was not as fun as expected.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
My cabin was perfect. I loved the balcony and think the extra price for it was worth it. The room was far more spacious than required, but this made the voyage even more enjoyable.
Ship tip
Expect the passengers to be slightly older and the atmosphere to be calmer than Carnival cruises are typically known for.
It rained the entire portion of this visit, so my view is biased. The island seemed like it had potential to be better but we weren't able to visit the beaches and mostly walked around the city which has many portions shut down and not taken care of. We did find a small shipping and bar area that made the stop worthwhile.
This location has the best beach of the voyage. I recommend the quiet beach for the best experience and most available lounging and bar access. If you are sensitive to the sun, then I recommend having a way to get out the sun because it's much more intense here than in the States.
This place was the most scenic and beautiful of all the locations. I highly recommend doing an excursion at this location and experiencing some of the local culture.
