Review summary

Overall, the onboard experience was good. Many of those ground terminal staff at 711 12th Ave, NY, NY were rude and some of them were nasty. However, the ship's staff were nice and friendly.

Embarkation

The ground terminal staff at 711 12th Ave was NOT nice that some of them are very rude, and even nasty. My husband has disability and we were rushed over. A female staff called me to move quickly to the counter and screamed at me when I turned around to help my disable husband to walk over. She yelled, "Your son can help him." We are a family and supposed to stay together in a group and move in a group to the counter at the ground terminal at 711 12th Ave, NY, NY. I met on the ship some travellers who also complained about how rude the ground terminal staff were. .

The beach water was cloudy and hard to swim with so much seaweeds floating there. My feet were caught by seaweeds and was afraid to swim there. I don't like Amber Cove at all. I do like the other port at Puerto Plata which I visited in December 2023 by Norwegian cruise line.

Carnival Venezia didn't give the guests color coded luggage tags which was hard to locate our luggages. The ship didn't announce the cabin #s to disembark. We didn't know the exact time to get off the ship until the staff told us to leve the ship.

Considering I was on the same cruise also traveling with a person with a disability I find this hard to believe. Not only was the port personnel from Interport Services polite they kinly assisted my mother when her rollator go stuck, carrying it over the threshold that I did not have to put the carry-ons down to do myself. Also if you read the disembarkation instructions or attend the debarkation seminar about how to use the in HUB debarkation time selection your color coded zone luggage tags would of been delivered directly to your cabin or you had the option if being device free to get them before 5pm last day from the GS desk on 3. Since the cabins had to be vacated by 8:30am and zone debark did not start until 9am, not sure why your steward allowed you to remain. The PA given instructions by MarQ were very clear and easily heard in any public waiting area not to mention viewable via the HUB app. As for Amber Cove, Carnival provides a extremely large resort pool w/ fare included loungers there to discourage passengers from the less than desirable and often ignored by local government public beach that is adjacent to the port area.
