Although this was not our favorite sailing due to port cancellations and weather, we know this was not in Carnival's control. However, what Carnival was able to control for my husband and I, they went above and beyond on! This was a great experience on a different style ship but the Carnival brand we know and love.
Embarkation

No issues. Security line was long but it was to be expected in NYC
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
IL Vilagio was excellent. MDR was great. Buffet cookies were less than good and the eggs of the eggs Benedict were cooked through (sad face).
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Loved the silent dance party! . Our least favorite was the Bingo. We did it once and did not return to anymore after that. It's sooooo slow.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
All the shows were great and the music at each venue was quite good. We didn't like the Piano Bar, Dara, as much as we hoped.
Children's Programs
No kids for us
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Wayan our room steward was friendly and did a great job with our room. We learned some phrases from Indonesia and used them around the ship to express our gratitude to all from there. Johan in guest services was so pleasant to talk to. He allowed me to voice my concern and followed through on his word to bring it up his manager.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship's layout and design was as expected and up to par for the Carnival brand. We enjoyed the ship!
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Our cabin was right above the Carnivale Lounge/bar so we heard music late into the night and at 6:30am when the sound system was turned on. I did mention it to Johan in guest services and we were able to move rooms at the next port.
Ship tip
Venezia is a bigger ship than expected. Check out ALL the spots to relax, guaranteed you'll find a place that suites you. Be kind to the staff, they work hard to keep things clean and to serve guests where they can.
The wrap around line through the 3rd floor was a bit much. Don't call passengers in such big crowds if all they are going to do is snake through the lower levels of the ship.
