Review summary

Some family members said it was the most fun vacation they have ever been on! It was truly a wonderful family vacation. Also, great job Carnival on eliminating marijuana being smoked on the ship. I took my young kids on a carribean cruise years earlier and it was all we can smell on the entire ship the entire trip.

Food and Dining

I hope someone from Carnival reads this. For an Italian themed ship, at the dinner resaurants in the back of the ship, you should have played some background Italian music to go with the theme, or maybe had a piano player at that beautiful piano above the stairs. One night, they played annoying 80s songs that was way to loud. It took away from that perfect setting as we sat next to that iconic Venice scene, with the Gondola boat on the water.

Piano Bar

This was, by far, the greatest time we had. My family spent 2 nights there and will never forget it. That Piano player/singer was incredible. He was funny, engaging, and just outstanding in every way.

Lido Marketplace

Really beautiful setting, great Italian themed pictures, great food. Super clean.

Canal Grande Restaurant

I hate to give a 4 star rating since the service and food was excellent, but as I mentioned before, please consider Italian music to match the romantic Italian theme instead of loud 80s music.

Onboard Activities

We loved all options... rope course, miniature golf, hot tubs, + all the musicians, etc.

You charge to much for a picture. I think you would make more money if you charged less.

Karaoke

The bar was gorgeous, but many complained that the music wasn't loud enough and you should really limit the songs to 2 minutes. Lots of long songs that the singers obviously wanted to end. It's hard to sing when the music is so soft.

Such a beautiful ship. Loved the Italian themes.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was great. We paid for the least expensive balcony but it was still wonderful. I wish I remembered the name of the person who was in charge of cleaning our room. I think it was Juan. He did a great job.

Ship tip

When leaving the New York Harbor, if you don't have kids, go to the Serinity Club Adult only area at the top of the ship, I think on Deck 15. It was SO beautiful leaving the New York Harbor, going past the Statue of Liberty, and only feet from hitting the bottom of the Verranzo bridge!

It was aweful driving through the Lincoln Tunnel and parking, but leaving on top of the ship and seeing the Manhantan skyline was a memory I will never forget.

Saint John, New Brunswick

I think it would be a bit boring to walk around the City, so we rented a car and went to the St. Martin Sea Caves and then back to the Reversing Falls in the City. Since we had 10 people, it was cheaper to rent cars then take the excursion.

Disembarkation

They didn't tell us about the possibility of Open disembarkation if they were ready. Open disembarkation can happen before they call your muster station if you are ready to leave and have all your luggage. They only gave those that were ready 15 minutes to leave the ship. We would have been ready if we knew that was even a possibility. They should tell everyone in advance.
