Caribbean Cruise by sgoforth

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise went well other than kids in places they are not allowed and no one correcting this issue. I did notb bring my kids on this cruise for a reason and I did not want to have to deal with other peoples kids. Kids not being required to have 24 hour supervision is ridiculous. The service from Calvin, Regie and Yin in the Washington Dining room was absolutely the best service anyone could ask for. They work amazingly together and off superb customer service. The disembarkation was a disaster and horribly managed. I have never experienced anything so unorganized and unsupervised in my life.

Honeymoon by herronforever

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time. The staff was alway very friendly and very helpful. It is obvious that they work very hard. The cabins need MAJOR updates but are clean. We might go on another cruise if we can find a newer ship with better mattresses/cabins.

Fun Cruise by DebJ14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great trip. We originally booked it for my husband to have some dental repairs done and looked at the cruise as an incidental part of it. However, we had such friendly service delivered with a smile, great entertainment and we met great people who made the cruise really fun. We will miss having the Valor in Galveston.

We had a great time on the Carnival Valor. by caddobigred

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Western

A group of co-workers travelled together with me on the Valor over the Labor Day Holiday weekend. The only dim spot in the 4 day trip was the safety meeting due to the heat and lack of breeze. I almost fainted. The crew helped immediately. Our food and staff were great in the dining room. I recommend choosing a scheduled meal time so you can meet up with friends that travel together but don't want to spend the WHOLE day together. Faster to the fun is well worth the expense so you don't have to stand in line...

It was just ok. It... by mrshoffman16

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Valor

It was just ok. It wasn’t what it was made out to be. Cozumel was ok. Progresso was horrible! The ship didn’t have much to do between 1-6 and it didn’t get exciting till late at night for the 18+. Our first day was horrible the workers were mean to me and my husband. Then thought the ship people were just walking into our room without knocking. We were naked one of the times! We might go on another cruise in a couple of years but as of right now I’m not impressed.

Another great cruise. Love the carnival cruises. by woody7264

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Valor / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Loved everything about the cruise except the disembarkation. It was total chaos. They were not organized at all. Everyone was crowding each other. People were trying to come from every way to exit one area. It was completely different from our other cruise.

Cruised 8-25 thru 8-30 to... by Conner2

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Valor

Cruised 8-25 thru 8-30 to Cozumel & Progreso Overall: My husband, myself & 3 teens had a wonderful time on the Valor. It was mine and my husbands 2nd cruise (1st was a 7-day on the Breeze) and our kids 1st. We had 2 connecting rooms on the 6th deck. Pros: The staff! They are amazing. Helpful and polite in every way. Our dining staff (Pik, Budi, and Made) were delightful. They were sweet, attentive and our kids absolutely loved going to see them every night. We will all miss them. Kamong, our room steward, also did a wonderful job keeping our connecting rooms very clean & stocked. The food! Something to please everyone. Guys is amazing & the kids really loved Blue Iguana burritos for breakfast. We are in main dining room every evening & for breakfast once. Everything we tried was delicious. We also really enjoyed the Sushi for a small $. The shows! Although there wasn’t very many on the 5 day Valor, the few they had were very good. We also made it to several of Steve Simeone’s comedy acts and we loved how family friendly (and funny) they were. Circle C Club! My 12 and 14 year olds really enjoyed spending several hours there everyday. They would actually go voluntarily because they had an activity they wanted to participate in. They also made several friends through the club. We were pleasantly surprised by this because of their ages. Excursions! The process to get on and off the boat was effortless and we had 2 really great excursions that we chose through Carnival. Cozumel - Elite Champagne Catamaran Sail & Snorkel (best day ever) Progreso - Ruins & Mérida City with Lunch (also a great great day). We loved Alejandro (Cozumel) and Jorge (Progreso) our guides. Cons: Cruise Director! This one was a night for us. Savannah. Ugh. She was awful. To be fair (I guess) this was her first cruise, but we will never book another with her as CD. She has no energy and is definitely not a kid person. She was a real bummer. Especially after having Mike on the Breeze. The Boat! It’s looking pretty dated and is in need of a major deep cleaning. Especially the state rooms. Both of ours was very dusty and just in need of some attention that they can’t give it in the time between disembarking and embarking. Not a negative toward the stewards, just Carnival in general. Restaurant Hours! Kinda screwy. Are they open, are they closed? Some stayed open for just a few hours, then closed for a few hours, then opened until 3 or 5 or 6. Just a general nuisance. Disembarkation! It is what is, but still a con. I realize the sheer amount of people they are trying to move, but yuck! Have to say that overall we had a really great week & like Carnival’s vibe. Have another cruise booked for May 2019 & we are excited to try the Legend. Happy cruising y’all!

This was my first cruise... by satinchocolate

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Valor

This was my first cruise and it was ok. Pros: plenty of things to do, plenty of food to eat (food was just ok), there were plenty of places to have peace and relaxation. My daughter enjoyed camp Ocean. I loved the night time movies. The bed was comfy. My cabin steward was great. Love buffet breakfast and sea day brunch. Drinks weren't strong. Guys burgers were good, although I was burned out on burgers by the end. Staff was really nice. I met cool people. Cons: Food was just ok. Muster drill was awful. I almost fainted. Getting on and off the ship was a mess. Photos were too expensive. Pools were too crowded. Your cruise is what you make it. I would go again....

Excellent family cruise and we have already planned our next! I never thought I would go on a cruise and I am so glad I did! Every adventure is what you make it so, let go, enjoy yourself and complain less. My favorite port was progresso although many bath them we loved the locals and great deals. The beach was beautiful when we were there.

Was a great first cruise... by imatxluckycharm

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Valor

Was a great first cruise and will not be my last. Staff was phenomenal and always busy busy busy those peeps work very hard. That being said I would like to touch on the kids & parents on board. I get kids, I had two of my own and raised them to be polite and respectful of other people's space. I was neighbors with a family that let their children run up and down the hallway screaming and laughing. One was the size of the Michelin Man so he was pounding the ground. Come on people take your kids upstairs to run around, there is plenty of room and you can probably wear them out faster, just sayin😜
